  • I'm consistently lacking in Vitamins D, E and Calcium. What are some recipes/food I can incorporate to remedy?

After tracking my diet for two weeks I find that I'm consistently only getting about 50% of the recommended daily allowances of Vitamin D, E and Calcium. I understand that time in the sun helps with Vitamin D production, but I'd still like to have a well rounded diet, and I know that these three nutrients work very closely together.

I am taking prenatal vitamins currently in anticipation of conceiving in a few months, so I know I'm getting enough; however I want to form healthy eating habits to teach to my whole family.

If you have any recipes or ingredients I can incorporate to my weekly food plans to bump up these nutrients, I'd highly appreciate it!

    Thank you!

  • What are some ideas for computer gear/accessories for my PC Gaming Husband for Christmas?

Right now he's racing to level up in Cataclysm expansion for World of Warcraft, and he loves all Blizzard games, really. He also enjoys League of Legends, Civ, and most RPG's. I think I've exhausted the tshirt/figurine aspect of Blizzard Products, and I've given him the pet moonkin from the Blizzard store and will be giving him the other charity pet that is up for sale right now.

He doesn't have a lot of 'stuff' for the PC yet (ie mice, keyboards, etc) and I think he'd like some neat stuff. What's the best brands/models?

He just upgraded his video card and a new monitor in the last six months or so.

Any ideas, both computer gear/games or anything a gamer like him might enjoy would be greatly appreciated!

  • Should I give a gratuity for an Innkeeper at a bed and breakfast where we're holding our wedding & reception?

I have rented out the whole house for my wedding, its a very low key affair. We are getting married on site with refreshments there, then the next day we are cooking Thanksgiving dinner on site (ourselves).

They have offered to ready the refreshments, I'm not sure if they will end up actually doing it, mainly just setting out because my fiance's mother will be making a lot of the items (empanadas for example)

They offered to do this free of charge, so I figure I ought to tip something ....but how much?

The cost of the whole house rental is about $4400 for three nights.

  • How do I confront Co-Worker about bad hygiene and bad bathroom habits?

I work with this gentleman who is technically under me. I do have the title of manager. It's a very small office. He has some sort of nuerological disorder/syndrom where he doesn't have full motor control and needs a cane to walk. He is able to perform normal office duties without any problems, he's just a little slower at certain things. But this is the reason I am having some diffuculty with how to frame this conversation.

It looks to me that he takes one shower a week, on sunday, and just gels his hair the next week. It looks gross, and by friday he has lint and string stuck in his hair. Every monday I compliment him on his appearence, telling him that he looks so much younger (he does) and ask if he'd gotten a hair cut or something, but either he hasn't connected the fact that the only day he's actually showered he gets compliments.

I don't think he brushes his teeth and when he talks he sprays what looks to me like black plaque everywhere. I've listened to see if he washes his hands after the bathroom, and all he does is use hand santizer (or at least I hope he uses it, no water is run, that's all I know.) Not only is he smelly at the end of the week, but he insists on touching people durring normal conversation. (both hands in a hand shake, touches your arm to make a point, etc)

The worst part is when he goes to the bathroom, he gets it everywhere, and he doesn't even attempt to clean it up. I've had some close calls by almost slipping in the urine he leaves behind.

I don't know if it's pride or just lazyness, but he also doesn't use his cane in the office to get around. Instead he clings to walls to get from place to place. This is leaving black spots on the walls where he's touched and I'm constantly having to wipe up after him.

Any help would be great, this guy makes my stomach turn by Thursday and Friday, and even though I have a good immune system there have been a lot of sicknesses lately with unexplained infections.

  • Would a trumpet skirt wedding dress suit a very top heavy plus size figure?

I have QUITE a lot in the bosom area, and my body "type" is an inverted triangle. I'm plus size on the top but just a large on the bottom.

Would a trumpet skirt (full length) work for me, or should I stick with A-line? Or is there another option that I'm missing entirely?

Here is a link to a bridesmaid's dress I'm thinking of buying as my wedding dress (informal wedding) in white.

  • Can't pay prescription prices for cat food any more, What are come comparable brands/types?

I have four cats, and one of the cats used to be on C/D, then the doctor said to put them on C/D and W/D mix, then they said to put them on just W/D. I know following doctor’s orders is important and most likely I'll keep paying for it, but it would be great to catch a break on the vet bills. Because we fed them C/D two of my cats gained a lot of weight which is why they are on W/D now, while the other two cats aren't overweight at all. James (the cat who has a urinary tract infection when we got him from the shelter and the reason we fed C/D at all) hasn't had another since then, and the doctor agreed as long as we had a high fiber/protein diet he should be fine.

Any foods that you would recommend?

  • Planning a food tour of Chicago for honeymoon, we are both big foodies, Any spots we must stop at?

We'll be spending around 2 weeks there, Never really been to Chicago other than as a kid. I understand there are really a few distinct areas, so any highlights of anything would be brilliant!

We're trying to stay away from the commercial food tours because that's not our scene. We'd like to just make our own tour. Thanks so much!

  • What is a good low to mid priced chef's knife to give to a begining chef? ?

I am looking to get an low to mid priced, decent chef's knife to give to my fiance. He has dreams of being a french chef, so normally only the best will do. However knives can be very expensive, and for our first set I'm trying to buy one at a time mid level, because I'm not made out of money. I was going to start off the set by giving him a 6" Chef's knife in his stocking this year.

Any advice, tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • My dog almost died from Vet's Prescription, and still may - What can I do?!

My mom's dog was recently given .5 cc of a liquid heart-worm preventative medication by her vet. That evening she was completely paralyzed and panting, Three days later after being at the Vet she responds to sound and touch, blinks, swallows and shivers, but is unable to get to her feet. My mom can't remember the name of the medication, the Vet told her they would be taking care of the bill for this because it was caused by the medication. Does anyone have any similar stories; or know of a good online resource or even the name of the medication? I know this is a very open ended question, I need help figuring out what I can do to help. I have other concerns about the Vet, however my mom can't afford to take her to a different Vet where I think she'd be better cared for. Thank you so much, I really don't know what to do.

  • How do you keep a garage door open?

I recently bought a house and the garage door won't stay open on it's own. It's very heavy to lift and no one seems to know anything except "you need a counterweight". I want to be able to tell the handyman exactly what I need so that he doesn't tack on unnecessary things; I'm new to the area so I don't have a relationship with anyone to trust them not to pull a fast one on me. I'll eventually end up getting a garage door opener; however for the moment getting this problem taken care of is all I can afford!

  • What is the best way to start reading comics?

I know the question sounds like common sense, just pick up a comic and read. I am very interested in the Marvel Universe and I would really like to begin reading earlier comics. I know I'll never get issue 1 of The Amazing Spiderman , But I would like to read it. I'd like to find the most cost effective way to read them as well. Any opinions, thoughts, hints or tips that you may have would be greatly appreciated; thank you!

  • Should I rent-to-own a property from my boss?

My Boss (I am one of 3 employees in her small business) has an empty house; and after I'd complained about my current landlord, she offered to rent me this home. She originally offered to rent-to-own after talking about only renting it; then sugested that we draw up a renttoown agreement. I was skeptical and uneasy about renting from my employer, and let her know that. Now she is pressuring me into buying and just today wants to shorten the time before I'm required to buy to just one year. She also wants to put a 20 year contact that the house has to be owner occupied; and it's right down the street from a university. She very much doesn't want to rent and have me not purchase; However I don't know if A. I'll have good enough credit by that time or B. will still be in the area (my fiance might be getting a new job that requires him to move)

She has also doesn't forget those who she's seen has "wronged" her, I've seen her not act fairly on past employees, and could jeapordize my future
