  • Does having a larger baby in the womb increase your chances of giving birth early?

As of today, I have a baby boy that is measuring RIGHT under 8lbs. .. at 36wks4days. They say his measuring is accurate, and he's been consistently measuring in the 85th-ish percentile for a good number of weeks.

I have already begun to dilate and efface. It's not much, but it's progress. I didn't with my daughter until I was in labor.

The tech told me that if I just did a decent amount of walking and had some sex I should be able to get him out naturally ( without going 39-40 weeks ) . Chances are looking probable of being induced .. though we'll know for sure tomorrow.

Does having a larger baby increase your chances of going into labor early? .. naturally?

  • How long did you have the more continuous braxton hicks contractions before actually starting labor?

Prior to my first child I didn't have anything.. until RIGHT before labor began. NO dilation, about 50% effaced, and hardly any braxton hicks. With this 2nd pregnancy my braxton hicks contractions have progressively (like over the course of a few days) have become more regular, and a lot stronger. Though.. not hard enough or regular enough to time or make major concern over. I've also been getting pains between my pelvis and my hip..(looking a the woman figure.. the crease where you see the natural "V" shape). I'm thinking time is close especially since I've started to dilate and efface - quite rapidly -, but of course, not sure.

how long did you have the stronger and more regular braxton hicks contractions before labor began?

  • Anyone else tired of peeing all the time?

I swear I pee almost 20 times a day.. if not more. And that's not an exaggeration. I can pee 3 times in 5 minutes.. especially if it's right before I need to leave the house. Then I pee whenever I get to my destination, and again before I leave to go to the next destination. I get up nearly every hour on the hour at night, and frankly.. I'm tired of it.

    Anyone else feel this way?

I know it's silly.. but hey! It's life.

  • Do you think labor is near?

I had my 36 week appointment today, and over a course of 5 days have effaced 25%. I'm dilated a fingertip, and measuring fundal height of 41weeks. (5 wks larger) I have gestational diabetes, but they said that was still WAY big. I was ordered to have an ultrasound next week to get babies size checked. Do you think I'll be having the baby early?

  • Will bamboo plants grow back or "fix" themselves after the stalk has turned completely brown?

My friend had killed hers, and i offered to take over. The dead stalk has a bit of green left in a few leaves, but was wondering if it still has hope. Anything to help it?

  • to strip or not to strip.. membranes that is.?

I'll be 37 weeks my next upcoming appointment. I've been told stripping or "sweeping" the membranes can help progress labor and get things started... normally as long as your body is ready. Things worked for my daughter, she was born 2 days after a stripping. My body is giving me signs that it is getting ready... so here's the problem.

My appointment is on the 29th. My husband isn't due home from overseas until the 2nd or the 3rd of May. Would you go ahead and have them sweep you? or if you were starting to dialate (maybe at a 3) would you just let nature take it's course? I was told to expect our son 1-2 weeks early at least. I had contractions for almost 4 straight hours last night, they were gone this morning, but am still having loose bowels and have that queasy feeling..(same feeling I had with my daughter before I had her) with the occasional contraction here or there.

Sorry this is so long, but I'm torn. My husband only has 2 weeks home, so we'd like to have our son a.s.a.p. so he can spend time with him. This has been okay'd be the Dr.s and at 37 weeks.. babies are term.

I just don't want to have our son before my husband gets home. Any advice?

  • 35w5d. Any ideas what this could be?

I didn't sleep last night. TMI - I've had numerous "loose" bowel movements today, with cramps to them. I haven't had an appetite over the past 3-4 days. Like, skipping meals no appetite. Over the past few hours my stomach has been pretty uncomfortable with cramps and pains, ( maybe contractions? I'm not sure )

I went to the Dr. Monday, and was only a fingertip dilated, with only one or two contractions while monitored for 20 minutes.

Any idea what this could be?

This is my 2nd child... but don't really remember anything from her pregnancy.

  • Question about discharge during late 3rd trimester?

I'm 35w5d and since I've had my internal exam (monday) have been having a lot more discharge, and some TINY mucous blobs maybe half the size of a pencil eraser..(instead of just little strings (sorry tmi)).. but enough to see it's there.

Do you think I'll be losing my plug soon?

  • "weepy" 3 year old. HELP!?

My daughter just turned 3 on the first of this month. She's always been an angel, but has all of sudden just started whining and crying over nothing. I don't know if it has to do with anxiety due to my impending birth, and her daddy getting ready to come home for RR (he's deployed). OR - if it's just what 3 year olds do. I'm stressed out to the max and she's not helping any. I've tried ignoring her, I've tried spanking her, I've tried talking to her about the situation and what to expect, .. rocking her, holding her, changing the subject to something funny, etc, etc. NOTHING seems to work. I'm in need of dyer help from you moms out there. What do I do to make it stop?

    Thank You!!

  • Is it safe to get moles removed while pregnant?

I'm 35w4d and will be seeing the dermo next week. (I'll be 36w3). I'm going to get my moles checked out, and wondering if it's safe to have them removed so they can be biopsied. I guess just wondering if he can cut them off or not while I'm pregnant, or if I'll have to wait until the baby is born. (which I hope not, I've waited 6 months for this appointment.)

  • muscle relaxers = early labor?

I'm 35w4d along, and I went into the hospital the other day due to SEVERE lower back pain. After being monitored, and getting checked out, the Dr. said that I'm having muscle spasms. She put me on a muscle relaxer and a narcotic (which I don't take because it hasn't helped the pain, and makes me want to sleep all day..), so i just stick with the muscle relaxer which has seemed to help with my flexibility. She said if I go into labor at 35/36 weeks.. they won't stop it because babies generally do well at this time.. unless otherwise noted under special conditions.

Could the muscle relaxers make me go into early labor?

  • Severe lower back pain at 35w3d?

It seems to just keep getting worse. I've had pain for about a week or so, but over the past 2 days when I get up in the middle of night to pee, I can't even stand up straight. It hurts to the point of tears. It's right in the lower back, where some people classify the area as having "dimples". I get this during the day sometimes when I try to stand up from sitting, or changing position. I've heard of posterior pelvic pain, but this bad? .. to the point of not being able to stand up. I'm feeling it this morning too, which isn't normal except for a few times later in the day.

Anyone else get this? and any suggestions on how to ease it. I go to the dr. Friday. ( but thinking I may be giving them a call Monday )

Someone mentioned kidney infection.. I doubt it. I have zip for other symptoms, and nothing else has changed except for the back pain.

  • How does back labor differ from regular labor?

It is just intense back pain? or is it contractions in your back? Any insight on this would be great.

    Thank you!
