Gentlemen, that is surely true, it is absolutely paradoxical; we cannot understand it, and we don't know what it means. But we have proved it, and therefore we know it must be the truth. -Benjamin Pierce, a Harvard mathematician, after proving Euler's equation, e^iπ = –1, in a 19th-century lecture.

  • Kabbalah, Qabalah, and Sephirot, oh my?

So, I threw a dart at my what-should-I-study-next board and hit "Kabbalah". Anyone know of any decent, in-depth, texts on either the traditional Jewish Kabbalah or the more modern Hermetic Qabalah?

  • Decent literature on various Pagan Theologies?

So all, have any favorite books/articles/websites on an in-depth look into the theology or philosophy of Astaru, Hellenistic, Wicca, Hindu, etc? I am quite interested in what everyone will come up with.

    Thank you!

  • Wiccans, Heathens, Pagans; A question on sacrifices?

Pardon, I am simply curious, what do you do with the items when you perform a sacrifice, such as Cakes and Ales, Blots, your own personal rituals, etc? I am especially curious regarding food items, do you bake/make them yourself? Can a sacrifice contain meat? Can/should one sacrifice store-bought goods? Do you leave the items you are sacrificing outdoors, on your altar, do you consume them? How often do you perform a sacrifice? Pardon the deluge of questions, it is just something that has been on my mind lately. My sincerest apology if I have offended anyone.

    Thank you for your time.

  • Amethyst, silver and Dreams?

So, for several weeks now I have been unable to sleep well, and two nights before last I had such very disturbing dreams that I actually took my grandmother's advise and wore a necklace of amethyst and silver when I went to sleep. I had probably the most peaceful sleep I've ever had in my entire life. Anyone else ever try this or anything else to protect their slumbers? Any success or failure? Just curious.

  • An honest question about the Trinity and Crucifixion?

This has truthfully been bothering me for quite some time, and I do mean this respectfully. Here goes: Jesus (according to Christianity) is the Son of God, and at the same time of the Holy Trinity and thus God in essence. (Please correct me if I am mistaken). According to the New Testament, Jesus died willingly, he could have stopped it, however God wanted Jesus to die for humanities' sins. Does this mean Jesus committed suicide? Or that God murdered his Son?

Again, I truly am curious. Personally I spent most of my time studying the Old Testament, so this is still throwing me for a loop. Thank you kindly.
