9 AnswersPhotography8 years agoHow long will the internet last?
so the web so far is about 20 or so years old, but will it be around in 100 years or 200 years time? will all our photos and facebook , instagram, tweets, etc still be around in say the year 2113 or 2213?
3 AnswersOther - Internet8 years agoCan someone explain Fishers principle?
This is the explanation of why there are usually about 50 -50 male - females born in populations of say humans, but also other mammals. The principle talks about expending energy on off spring, so called parental expenditure or investment.
But it just doesn’t seem to make sense because a singe male is able to fertilise many females. So surely there would be less need of males than females?

1 AnswerDesktops9 years agoIs it just harder for tall people to run?
I'm 6'4" tall and never found running very easy, I'm about 80kg (176lbs) or is it just a matter of endurance? I walk at about 5km/h (3.1mph) happily.

3 AnswersCycling10 years agoWhat can be done to reduce world CO2 output?
I mean realistically, there is nothing that can be done except draconian measures that most people would not like. Such as closing all major shopping centers on a sunday for example. Making personal transport very expensive, such as cars. Simply making things to last, so a computer or gadget is expected to last for 10 years rather than 1-2 years.
4 AnswersEconomics1 decade agoHow do you achieve a black background in a photo?
A white background is easy, creating a little light box for example with sides cut out covered with white tissue to produce soft light. How do you do the equivalent but for a sheer black background?
3 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoDoes an Olympus E-5 offer any advantages over say Canon 5D II ?
Yes, I realise the 5D II is a fullframe. But in terms of cost of lenses vs speed of lens. Canon lenses at f2.8 seem super expensive. Though the Canon has a better sensor under low light which might compensate. Could having a fullframe sensor compensate through cropping?
4 AnswersCameras1 decade agoDoes the value of a share price indicate the worth of a company?
On the Australian stock market for example, some companies have pretty big differences in share prices.
RIO TINTO $85.11
MACQ GROUP $40.60
CWLTH BANK $52.32
vs say some major telecommunications company like telstra that is about $2.82
Why would there be such a huge difference?
or is it because there are more shares available for sale? a company might for example only sell(make available) 100,000 shares vs 1,000,000 shares? ( the company that makes avaialble a lot of shares, the price will be lower?)
Other - Business & Finance1 decade agoHow do you sort out your photos?
What are your tips for sorting out your photos in say iphoto? What kind of album names/titles/ categories are good to use? 2 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoWhen is best to use an F-stop of 1.4 in bright conditions?
What are some good subjects for photographing with such a wide open aperture? I've tried fun things like the tips of pens or parts of a feather. Photographing a face kind of looks strange because essentially only their eyes are in focus and their ears go out of focus, when is that effect used?
2 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoWhen is a medium format camera useful?
Such as the Pentax 645 D with 40 MP ? Is this mainly for large poster/Billboard work? or do magazines use this format?
4 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoWhy do people end up collecting/buying so many lenses?
I mean for a DSLR you may only need 2 lenses a decent zoom (50-200mm) and a wider angle lens. Is it better just to sell or buy lenses as you need them for particular things?
5 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoIs photographing in the morning the best time for sharp photos of landscapes?

4 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoAre low f-stop lenses better or sharper?
