As a writing exercise, I am writing descriptions of odors / smells for different items, like how a campfire smells, or how macaroni smells while it is being cooked. One item is to write a description of how genitals smell without using the word "fishy" and without any obscene words.

Please be serious. Don't use lewd, obscene, or gross words please. This is for a college-level English creative writing class focusing on how to use descriptive words to describe something from the 5 senses, in this assignment the sense of smell. I also have to describe the smell of excrement, believe it or not. I think I signed up for the wrong class--LOL.

Although this IS an education question, I'm posting it in Health instead. Hope someone here is a good writer.

New neighbors moved in above me. They burn something in their apartment that smells nauseatingly SWEET with a hint of a chemical odor that I can't describe. Maybe like mixing a perfume or per-fumy odor with a burning object like a burning car tire?

Whatever it was, it was stronger than any air freshener could be and the odor lingers over 24 hours. The odor also gave me a headache.

Could someone list each illegal drug that can be heated up or smoked, and what each one smells like when hot or burning?

I'm rather naive on these things and want to know the possibilities.

And, would the Police come investigate on the report only of such an odor? Or would they need more to act?
