To become a teacher, how much can be done online?
To become a teacher, how much can be done online?
I am 28, left a corporate job to become a stay at home mom and to go back to school. I've only completed a very small amount of college courses online.
I would like to become a teacher, but I do not live near a university. I do live near a CC that offers AAT. Can I get that and then take online courses for the rest of an elementary teaching degree? How much can be done online and how much has to be done at a university?
I'm in Missouri, by the way.
2 AnswersTeaching8 years agoNeed synonym for mindful, accountable, etc (in relationships and more). Heard on Christian radio?
Ever have it where you KNOW a word, but you just can't think of it? I'm there.
I listen to a lot of Christian radio, but recently moved, so I'm listening to a different station. There was a talk show in the station I used to listen to and one particular host always talked about being more ((insert word)) in relationships/tasks/etc.
Synonyms could be mindful, accountable.
The word means hold yourself accountable, or try harder. Be more mindful and mean what you are doing.
If you are faced with a tough change, maybe you were an addict of sort, you need to be more ((word)) in journey.
You can also be more ((word)) in your relationship with your spouse.
I'm pretty sure the word I'm looking for ends in -able, but I'm not 100% sure.
Please!! Someone rattle of a bunch of words!! This is driving me crazy!
5 AnswersWords & Wordplay9 years agoafter credit report dispute, deletions, how long until score goes up?
I disputed a bunch of items on all 3 credit reports. i had several things get deleted.
i saw a rise in my transunion score right away. however, equifax & experian are still really low (about what they were before the dispute).
the dispute was just finalized today and i pulled the reports & scores today also. does it take a little while for scores to "catch up" even though the info was deleted?
i had some majorly bad items deleted and my balances are lower. since TU raised about 60 points after the dispute closed, i assumed the EX and EQ would do something similar, but they didn't budge.
i want to apply for a home loan. do i need to wait for scores to 'catch up' or can i apply right away?
6 AnswersCredit9 years agoCan I reprogram a key fob to use on new car?
My key fob quit working on a 2008 Malibu. The dealership wants to charge me $70 for the key fob + extra to program it. I have an old key fob from a 2004 Grand Am that looks the same. Can they take that and re-program to work with my Malibu?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoAm I ready to apply for a home loan?
TU score = 624
EX score = 630
EQ score = 641
FHA lenders that I have applied to have stated that minimum score for FHA loans with them is 620 (middle score). I wasn't that high at the time, but disputed some stuff and got it deleted. Now I am above the credit score needed. My debt to income ratio is low. I have worked for the same company for over 8 years. My income is not too high. I have enough money saved for down payment/closing costs.
Am I ready to apply for a home loan?
What other factors are considered in the application process that may prevent loan approval?
2 AnswersRenting & Real Estate9 years agoWhere can I get a replacement part for my '09 Sebring's driver door? (link to pic included)?

I would like to replace this part on my door handle. It looks like it should be able to just snap on and off. Where is this part called, or where can I get a replacement part for it?
Thanks for your help!
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agowhere can i find a mobile/portable tv/dvd player?
I want to buy a mobile TV for long trips in the car. We already have a portable DVD Player, but I know they make Mobile TVs that can pick up DTV reception.
There have been commercials in the past though show just a handheld sized one... maybe where the little kid locks himself in the bathroom to use it and his parents are proud thinking he's in there using the potty???
7 AnswersTVs1 decade agoCan I prune a Techny Arborvitae tree and use as a shrub?
I bought 2 Techny Arborvitae trees (Thuja occ) on sale for FIFTY NINE CENTS each. I was apparently too excited to find some 'shrubs' for so cheap, that I didn't realize they are actually trees! When I bought them, they were in about 6 inch pots, so I took them home and placed them in 12-inch pots and set them on either side of my drive way. Currently, they are both about 24 inches tall. They look very nice, but now that I know they are TREES, I'm wondering if I can just keep them pruned or will I need to transplant them into real ground?

my budget is limited (definitely under $50).
3 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoIs it logical to quit my job to go back to school?
I have a good job that pays well and has great hours (my husband stays at home with our son). I am very good at it and am frequently recognized for my work. I know that there are many people out there struggling that would do anything to be in my current position.
However, I never took the time after high school to get a degree (I am 25 now). I regret not doing so and I have been seriously contemplating on whether or not I should go to school.
My dream job is to be a high school teacher, then one day, high school counselor. I know initially after going to school I would be making less than what I am now, but it would be my DREAM JOB.
Also, my husband would go back to school full time. So once he was completed, we would have that additional income.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Our plan would be to move back to the town where my in-laws live and our son would go to preschool during the day and my in-laws could babysit if and when we needed them too.
If we lived there, we could start out at the local community college, which is only $68 (yes, $68!!) a credit hour. And I could get a TEACH Grant going there, so that's even less of an expense for us.
As of now, we have little debt (cars paid off, we rent, one credit card with $1500 balance).
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry this got so lengthy. I guess since the idea just sounds so out-of-this-world to me, I just need some other people's thoughts on it. Thanks.
4 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoCan you get a TEACH grant for online classes also?
I want to take online classes to become a teacher, but I'd like to get a TEACH grant. As long as the school is listed on the TEACH school list, it shouldn't matter if I earn my degree in-class or online, right?
2 AnswersFinancial Aid1 decade agoCan I teach in MO with a degree from Liberty University Online?
Liberty University is a Regionally Accredited school. I want to receive a BS in Education and then get my certification for Missouri. Will I be able to do this without having to repeat any courses (that aren't going to be recognized by MO Dept of Education)?
