Hey okay so this is my account... I need advice and which are your favorite ones? I know I have multiples but I only did that for the Opika Belt Contest so don't say stop copying my old ones.Do you think I could win the contest?

Im kind of sick at the moment. Sick enough to not go to school. My parents won't let me go to school tomorrow or to school dance rehersal after school. I have to go though thats the thing that they don't understand. Our group is horendous and i only have 2 more 1 1/2 hr rehersals. How to convince them to let me go to at least half of the day to school (1 class and rehersal)

I know many ways to get into a split, but I'm wondering which ones help me get into a technicly better split.

RIGHT/LEFT -

Rotating from straddle to the side

sliding down from fourth

Jazz split to full split.

Both leg bent and than into a full split.

STRADDLE -

Legs in seconde to straddle

Rotate from right/left split to straddle

Push it out from Legs apart on the floor.

I would really love to start tap. I have a lot of experience in Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Contemporary.

QUESTIONS

1. Is tap bad for ballet? I heard you need loose ankles for tap while need tight, locked ankles for ballet.

2. I've done tap at school, I learned the basics, flaps, shuffles, time steps, and many others. Do you think I should start at a beginner level or move up a level.

3. Are there any jetes or pirouettes in tap? Are they used as much as they are used in Jazz?

4. Will any of my dance training help in tap?

5. What should I wear/ what shoes do you recomend (teacher says we can use any shoes we wish.) Split soles or fulls? Tan, white, or black? What style?

me and my friend for halloween will be lady gaga and beyonce. im beyonce. :) i would like to take things from the telephone music video. dress code : shoulders must be covered, no flip flops. we dont really have a budget but no designer brands please. i would just like an idea but links and stuff are also accepted. for makeup i was thinking stage makeup eyes and very defined lips. for hair thinking curling and a csi dont cross tape as a hairband. ideas?

Okay, so this year we're performing for dance recital.

We're doing a jazz dance to California Gurls, Let me think about it, and Just Dance.

I really have no idea on what to wear.. we're probably gonna taylor make it or get basics at a dance store and spruce it up. Please do not suggest we order from any online websites. Because I live in Asia, websites like Discount dance, and dancewear solutions cost around 100 dollars to ship 1 item. So we need ideas on cut, style, and color. And we also have a dilema on shoes. We're doing a trio, and 2 of us do have dance sneakers, and one of us refuses to buy them because her parents are not willing to pay 50-70 dollars for a pair of dance sneakers "you won't wear twice." Also, what is a budget which would be very practical for costumes. My mom is willing to pay as much as I need as she is a dance mom, but the other parents are not as lenient. Also hair ideas would be appreciated.

No offense to cheerleaders out there.. but, it really is no competition to dancers don't you think? Dancing is all about feeling. But with cheerleading everything is so stiff and they're emotion and faces stay the same. The only thing I think cheerleading could compare to is a competition dance really lacking technique. A lot of them don't even pointe there feet. I don't think they'd even stand a chance in ballet class. But, on the other hand I think ballerinas would be able to pull of cheerleading any day. Plus, even dance has a few tumbling skills in it, they accent the piece. But it's not like cheerleading where its purely a tumbling piece with a few poses thrown in. Your opinions?

So today I'll be taking an open level ballet and contemporary class. Well I'm pretty advanced in dancing, but I'm kind of worried about the age difference. I just turned 12 and will probably be in a class with like 17-35 year olds, because it's an adult class. I'm worried if I'll make friends in this class, I'm actually just taking the class for more training... but, it would be better if I have someone my own age beside me.. is there any way to really interact with people around 2 times your age?

I would love to teach a class this summer but being arounf 12/13 is too young? I wouldn't mind assisting a class either. But noone at ANY studio I've been to have assisted a class. I don't think they even have a program like that. How would I ask my teachers about assisting? And I have been taking ballet since I was 3 and am now taking Intermediate Foundation (RAD) and Jazz since I was 8 and now taking Jazz CSTD Grade 5. I also take open level hip hop and lyrical. I got into dance team at my school for ballet and hip hop, and would've gotten in Jazz, but couldn't cause of my age.

One of my windows just cracked, but just a almost all the way across. The window is about 3'5 by 1 ft. We rented this house and are moving out in 2 weeks. I have 2 questions,

1. Will we have to pay for the damage?

2. If we do.. around how much could I pay for the window (The cheaper the better)

Okay so..

this weekend I have many dance classes because it's the studios open house, paying for 1 class and taking like 7. So.. I will be taking hip-hop, jazz, ballet, lindy hop, salsa, contemporary, acro etc.. but what should I wear. All the classes are back to back so I can't change in between except for just putting shoes and stuff on. I will bring all my shoes (jazz, ballroom, thongs, ballet etc.. ) but what about clothes... I can't coordinate it with every class. What should I wear?

We have an 80s shirt we were given and we can wear it to school tomorrow what acessories should I wear? Plus, I have to wear shorts, long pants, skort, or capris in navy blue. Shoes, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and undershirt ideas please.

There's is an ANNOYING girl who just hangs out with us, who doesn't even ask. ALL of my friends hate her.. but 1 likes her just because she feels sorry for her. Just today she was just like "I know Bobby likes me.. He went out of his way to get me a marker" than we're like "NO HE DOESNT WE KNOW WHO HE LIKES" than shes like "He DOES like me." Uhhh... betch. Plus whenever we have something and she doesnt she always has to beg you for it and she keep begging even when you say no. All of us ARE mean to her.. but she hangs out with us because our friend that feels sorry for her is actually liking her. God shes r-tarded.
