  • How many of you married people?

Use Facebook? And why? (Don't state the obvious, "to stay in touch with friends", you can so do the old fashion way, on the phone, in person)

I was just reading an article on Facebook (on MSN) and to no surprise, I learned "Facebook was recently found to be a factor in one in five divorces, and the figures are even higher for relationship break-ups"

The above is understandable, as the opportunities to cheat, be unfaithful, flirt, talk to the opposite sex on Facebook are readily exploited, and you can do so with great ease, in the secrecy of your living room.

I think we (Muslims) have established, Facebook can never be passed as lawful on the basis of Shariah for many reasons. So why do (Muslim) people still use it?

Better to avoid the poison altogether than to try to heal from the damages it causes.

  • Why do Muslim girls think it's okay to befriend guys?

Ok yes I know we live in the 21st century, and some sort of interaction with the opposite sex is inevitable; like at the work place, in school, college etc. But then there are limits to this interacting too.

To be honest, no man can ever be friends with a girl whom he finds attractive. He'll always want more. And there's always (some) attraction, from a guy's perspective: when he's h0rny, pretty much anything goes; so all you girls who are thinking "I have plenty of guy friends, that's not true" well, he's probably looking at your or cleavage on the sly. Guys are like that, we're animals! lol. Grrrowlll.

Allah says in the Quran ‘And come not near to Zina’ the terms ‘come not near’ means: To stay away from all such things which lead to Zina – which are stepping-stones to fornication. So all practises, things which aid and foster fornication and immodesty (talking to teh opposite sex without reason) are forbidden in Islam.

Satan flows in a man like blood flows in him, from initial friendship; other things may happen. So it's better to avoid the poison altogether than to try to heal from the damages it causes.

  • Girls: Would it bother you if your husband-to-be wasn't a virgin?

Ok, let's say you're one of the (very few) good girls who've remained chaste, until marriage, and as you're getting to know your husband-to-be, you learn he had previous (sexual) relationships with other girls. Would it bother you? Would you still marry him?

There are many reasons why Islam prohibits pre-marital sex, as it has major consequences later on in life. For example: Let's say you do marry this man, but you were not as good as his previous Gf's in bed, or couldn't kiss like them etc, would it not leave him unsatisfied, would he not always be comparing and of course, vise versa, thus having an affect on the marriage. It is much wiser to experience that person, and have them experience you for the first time, without expectation of things that were before.

So knowing the above now - would you still marry him? If he can't control his desires prior to a marriage, what's to stop him from going astray after.

Note: This can so easily be apply to chaste men, who learn their wife-to-be isn't a virgin.

  • Do you personally know (in real life) any ex-Muslims?

    I don't.

And I'm not talking about the Anti-Islamic campaigners who come here undercover from R&S - you know the wannabe "ex-Muslims" lol.

I just can't see anyone leaving the faith of Islam, it's not impossible, but highly improbable. I think anyone with 2 brain cells could conclude Islam-Qur'an is truly the word of God.

For non-Muslims: In order for one to understand Islam, one must want to understand Islam - give it a fair trial. Don't look up Anti-Islamic literature online - these sites on the Internet or missionaries' books you find on 'so called' Islam are derived from corruption deliberately spread to entice hatred.

Also, one mustn't snip random verses from the Qur'an to make a point. These verses then appear to be contradictory, if shown out of context. Just as they would in any other religious books. Study the Qur'an in depth, and you will come to accept the great religion of Islam. I welcome you all on board.

    Walaikumasalam.

  • Inspired by Pakistani Chap's question?

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Al52w...

What are the pro's and con's of this place. Some have clearly confessed YA answers sets them back from doing the more important things in life; studies, work, etc. Some even spend up to 4-6 hours a day here, or more 7 days a week. If there's clearly a problem here, and more harm is coming from their excessive usage than good, how can we help these YA-Addicts?

  • Where does it say in the Quran that an apostate must die?

I ask this question, as some girl had posted a question, a while ago which is now deleted "When someone leaves Islam, does that mean Muslims aren't supposed to be friends with them anymore?"

I was shocked at reading some of the answers, by some credible answerers who I thought knew what they talk about, clearly not.

To my knowledge, there is no single verse in the Qur’an (in context) that prescribes a worldly punishment for apostasy. The Qur’an states the punishment only in the Hereafter. However, numerous verses in the Qur’an affirm freedom of religion and reject compulsion or coercion in religion; for example, see Chapter 2, verse 256. In hadith, however, there are some texts signifying capital punishment for apostasy. However, scholars differed about the interpretation of these, the best opinion and a logical one is, since the Qur’an affirms freedom of religions, apostasy is left to the individual as real accountability will be in the day of Judgement.

As to befriend such people, well, it's best not to, as they may have a bad influence on the person. But we musn't hate on such people either. They may have left Islam, for many different reasons. Wrong info; brainwashed, etc. Prophet (Pbuh) deeply cared for Makkan Mushriks. He prayed, cried and tried his best to get them on the right track. Even his enemies were treated not only with kindness, but, with genuine concern for them.

Lastly, those of you who don't really know Islam, or your religion; Qur'an, Hadith etc, should really refrain from answering such questions, as many non-Muslims genuinely come here to learn about Islam, but if they're going to read, answers like 'Kill the Apostates" by Top Contributors, well, what does this look like? Hardly doing Islam any favours are you.

  • Girls: What is your point of wearing a Hijab?

If you're not going to conceal the rest of your body adequately; meaning tight clothing that show your exact figure, breasts etc. Not to mention the fitnah some Hijabis 'openly' engage in; such as hanging out with random guys, getting all touchy with them (in public). Makes you wonder why they chose to wear the headscarf in the first place.

I just don't understand why a girl would wear the Hijab (To cover her hair) and yet, wear slutty outfits, such as tight jeans, see-through tops, etc. Where's the common sense in that? Which is the graver temptation for a man: Looking at a girls hair, or looking at a nice butt or breasts, that are clearly transparent through the clothing, which tempts one towards evil?

Don't forget the Hadith in Muslim girls, the Prophet (Pbuh) said the majority of women who are hellbound will be those “women who will be dressed yet appear to be naked” This is clearly manifested today.

  • Girls with a past. If you were getting to know a guy for marriage purposes?

And in conversation, he brought up your past; asked if you've had any pre-marital relations, boyfriends, sex etc. Would you answer honestly? Or would you change the subject.

I believe one must answer such questions honestly. I mean, if he didn't ask then yeah somethings are best left unsaid, but as a guy I'd appreciate and want honesty, as the Bible says - There is nothing covered that shall not be revealed, so one way or another, he will eventually find out, and you'd rather him know prior to any engagement, rather than him finding out later which may have austere consequences.

  • Does size really matter? Are overweight women really unattractive?

Or does beauty lie in the eyes of the beholder?

One may also ask, what is fat? What is the definition of the word fat, 2 people can look at the same person and see 2 completely different things. I personally think, anything over size (UK) 8-10 is fat, e.g if you're about that size and average height, you shouldn't weigh more than 8 stones (110 lbs)

It''s wrong to discriminate, or bash overweight people, as some are not fat due to excessive eating, but rather suffer from an illness. But the majority of overweight women carelessly, and overly eat too much.

Women are bestowed with great bodies, proportioned figures, so they should take good care of themselves and their weight, they need to look good for their husbands. It's no wonder why so many men are lead astray, or lust over other women, it's because their women at home are too lazy to work out, or take good care of themselves.

  • What do you think is a good age for a Muslim girl to marry?

I believe every (Muslim) girl should marry before she's 25, preferably to a guy who is a fair few years older than her.

When a girl is 25+ she's no longer a girl, she's actually a woman, and no guy really wants to marry a woman, but rather wants to marry a girl.

Secondly, it is scientifically proven that women age quicker than men, the skin of a woman is delicate; prone to damage, also taking into account, she has to go through pregnancy, labour etc which are all factors to her ageing. It is also a fact, that women are maturer than men, so a guy should be a little older than the woman (4-5 years) so then the maturity levels won't clash. Also, if the woman is older than the guy, when you both reach your 40's and 50's, the husband may go off his wife, as she'll start to look like his mother.

So all women who are in their 20's and not married, get a move on. Biologically, a woman should also have kids in her 20's, and not to mention Islam also encouarging an early marriage - for all the right reasons.

  • Why are you an atheist?

Atheists speak of the Big Bang and evolution, whereas all others speak of God. Those who answer “I don’t know” are atheist for all intents and purposes, not because they deny God’s existence, but because they fail to affirm it.

Now, the Big Bang may explain the origin of the universe, but it doesn’t explain the origin of the primordial dust cloud. This dust cloud (which, according to the theory, drew together, compacted and then exploded) had to come from somewhere. After all, it contained enough matter to form not just our galaxy, but the billion other galaxies in the known universe. So where did that come from? Who, or what, created the primordial dust cloud?

Have any of you (atheists) studied the complexities of life and the universe? Surface of the Earth, the temperature range, orbital properties, they all demonstrate that this planet is specifically designed for life. One cannot help but witness the signature of the Creator when you have an indepth look at life. Whether or not people recognise these signs is another matter—as the old saying goes, denial isn’t just a river in Egypt. (Get it? Denial, spelled “de Nile” … the river Ni … oh, never mind.) The point is that if we see a painting, we know there is a painter. If we see a sculpture, we know there’s a sculptor; a pot, a potter. So when we view creation, shouldn’t we know there’s a Creator?

  • Have you ever met someone who looks eerily like yourself?

For those who don't know what eerily means. It means, like in an unnatural eery (spookily) manner.

Also, don't you just hate when someone says you look like so and so, and whoever they're comparing you to looks like a dork. lol

Then you go home and look in the mirror and ask yourself "Do I really look like Gunther from Friends!" Aaaah Ha!..=x

  • If you had to guess how you are going to die, how do you think you will go?

I would wanna die doing a really spectacular stunt. Like jumping from a plane with no parachute on a motorbike while playing the violin. Or a high speed pursuit saving someone's life. The robbers grab a kid as hostage and I chase' em on my motorbike, this is Live on CNN news by the way, with the final count down track playing in the background...

But seriously, do any of you really think about your death? Do you ever meditate and really think that some day, people will be carrying your funeral. Kinda' freaks you out when you're deep in thought - thinking death is inevitable, and YOU will definitely die one day. And the worst is, no-one knows when there time is up. Ask yourself- if you were to die right now, are you ready to face the Lord?

  • Guys: Truthfully, what do you like? Slim women, medium women, or large?

Of course, it's wrong to discriminate, or bash the overweight people, as some are not fat due to excessive eating, but rather suffer from an illness. But the majority of overweight women carelessly, and overly eat too much. They then say 'oh we don't care about our weight' that is a load of bollox. Of course you care.. What about the other excuse "I'm not fat, just big boned" ..Wtf?..shut up!

Come' on women, you lot are bestowed with such great, proportioned figures, so take good care of yourselves and your weight, you need to look good for your hubbies. It's no wonder why so many men are lead astray, or lust over other women, it's because their women at home are too lazy to work out, or take good care of themselves.

Now I know some men can also be fat, but there are more overweight women than men. 1 in 5 women in the US is now obese.

  • Can a woman with a really big nose still be attractive?

I saw this really attractive woman today, but from a distance (I know I shouldn't bee looking at women in the first place, but shut up) Anyway, I thought she was eating a banana, but when I got closer, it was her nose.

So my question really is, guys let's say you went to a girls house for a proposal, and saw her for the first time. Everything else about her was great, degree, nice figure, good cook etc. But she had a really bent, crooked nose. Would that put you off? or is that just shallow?
