Where did the comments go on the yahoo articles?
With the change over to the new yahoo pulse or whatever they are calling it, the comments at the end of every article are gone. Where did they go? Is yahoo bringing them back or are they having technical issues?
3 AnswersYahoo Answers10 years agoHow to restore computer files after a system restore...?
This morning my computer had a virus on it. I couldn't access any programs or the internet. I did a system restore and unfortunately it seemed to take me back to the factory settings. I did manage to find my files from before the virus/crash and they are in a file called C:\My Backup -- 20-01-11 0931. They are pictures, programs, emails, music and other stuff. How do I put those back to the way they were? I tried to use a restore program but the files weren't deleted so it showed no files to be restored using that. I can click on some of the files and access them but some are "access denied". Any help would be appreciated.
2 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoI have an xbox 360 and I plan on getting an xbox live gold account to watch....?
movies on Netflix. I have a DSL modem from my local phone company that I have hooked to my computer for my internet. How do I hook up the xbox to the modem to watch a movie on the TV and still be able to have another family member using the computer/internet at the same time the movie is playing? In other words, I want to run 2 devices with this one modem. What special connectors do I need to make that work? Thanks.
3 AnswersXbox1 decade agoWhy do people abandon the title American and use another nationality hyphened American to describe themselves?
Why do some our citizens use another nationality (hyphenated)-American to identify themselves? Doesn't that just separate us even more from our most important commonality between each other? Seems to me that if you went to the country you are claiming before America that:
1. They WOULD NOT Accept you as one of their own.
2. You would not know the true culture of that country.
3. You couldn't effectively find your way around in that country.
4. You most likely can't speak the native language of that country.
So I guess what I'm asking is - Why, if you were born in the United States, would you claim another nationality before just saying you are American? No other country would claim you as theirs, so why claim them first before America? Is this your motherland or not? This is not aimed at black people, I am not a racist, it's aimed at anyone who uses another nationality hyphenated with American. If we are a melting pot then why can't we be unified as Americans? I am 100% American, born and raised, no hyphens for me. What's your take on it?
9 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoIsn't this the America that is in you heart and soul?
"About to enter, fellow citizens, on the exercise of duties which comprehend everything dear and valuable to you, it is proper that you should understand what I deem the essential principles of our government , and consequently those which ought to shape its administration. I will compress them within the narrowest compass they will bear, stating the general principle, but not all its limitations. Equal and exact justice to all men, of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political; peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none; the support of the State governments in all their rights, as the most competent administrations for our domestic concerns, and the surest bulwark against anti-republican tendencies; the preservation of the General Government in its whole constitutional vigor, as the sheet anchor of our peace at home and safety abroad; a jealous care of the right of election by the people - a mild and safe corrective of abuses, which are lopped by the sword of revolution, where peaceable remedies are unprovided; absolute acquiescence in the decisions of the majority - the vital principle of republics, from which there is no appeal but to force, the vital principle and immediate parent of despotism; a well-disciplined militia - our best reliance in peace and for the first moments of war, till regulars may relieve them; the supremacy of the civil over the military authority; economy in the public expense, that labor may be lightly burdened; the honest payment of our debts and sacred preservation of the public faith; encouragement of agriculture, and of commerce at its handmaid; the diffusion of information, and the arraignment of all abuses at the bar of public reason; freedom of religion; freedom of the press; freedom of person, under the protection of the habeas corpus; and trial by juries impartially selected. These principles form the bright constellation which has gone before us, and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation. The wisdom of our sages and the blood of our heroes have been devoted to their attainment. They should be the creed of our political faith; the text of civil instruction; the touchstone by which to try the services of those we trust; and should we wander from them in moments of error or alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps, and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty, and safety." - THOMAS JEFFERSON First Inaugural Address
Where did this America go?
5 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoAmericans .. do you believe in the Constitution?
And if you do why did you vote for any of these no-good loosers in government? Our Constitution has been under attack since John Adams was president, so please refrain from "Bush did it for the last 8 years, take your medicine and like it". If you are American, and you have read ANY real history what so ever, please explain your reasoning for supporting "Constitutionally incompetent" leaders on both sides.
14 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy do we continue to allow our elected officials to...?
ignore and violate the U.S. Constitution? Are we that lazy and brainwashed to believe that freedom is something of the past and not for our future? Isn't being your own person and having your sacred individual rights upheld important to you? Also, do you consider the income you make from your job your personal property? and if so, why would you allow the government to steal that property and give it to whom ever they choose without your consent?
I realize that we have to pay taxes for certain things like infrastructure, road and bridges that's not the question here. Limited government was the objective of the founders of our country and paying tax for specific functions is Constitutional. However, the Constitution only allows for 18 specific governmental functions and nothing more, the rest is up to the states and the people. Isn't getting handouts/bailouts, courtesy of the working people, shirking all personal responsibility and accountability for ones' actions? Why must we all pay for every failure and how is that morally correct? Sometimes bad things happen to good people but why does that mean that we must all share in everyone's misfortune equally? Please explain your moral reasoning as it relates to the Constitution.
Is there hope that all Americans will want to have their liberties and freedom? Why would anyone want to be a slave?
Please, no hateful posts...This is to get everyone thinking about why our officials have chosen this path for us and whether it matches your particular set of values. And if it doesn't what should happen next?
7 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhat does the Constitution mean to you? and?
would you lay your life down for it and what it stands for? Would you, like the brave men of the Battle of Fort McHenry, use your body to prop up the flag, to insure it never touches the ground in submission to oppressive forces (including our own government)?

2 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDemocracy or Constitutional Republic? ?
Why do people continously call our form of government a Democracy when we are a Constitutional Republic? Why haven't they learned the difference and when will people wake up and realize that big governemt is not the answer its the problem in this country? A democracy is mob-rule with the individuals rights taken away. That is not a form of government we should embrace. Government can't take care of us, it doesn't produce wealth, it can only redistribute wealth from one group to another. We have a duty as American citizens to restore our Constitutional Republic, what are some of your ideas to accomplish this task?

5 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoHow can I get more people to ...?
Learn more about how Government is meant to work? Why is the expansion of government not a big concern to people? Am I mistaken or do my fellow citizens not realize that we don't just have rights BUT also a responsibility to hold our elected official accountable to the oath they took to keep our country free by following the Constitution? It seems to me that MOST of my fellow Americans are uninformed not just about the Natural Born Rights they have but how government was formed, how it is supposed to work and why. I know that some of the reading may be boring, but its so important to "feel" and understand the founding fathers intentions and what they went through to declare freedom from tyranny. The wording may seem "fancy and fussy" to us today, but if you read the letters of Thomas Jefferson and writings of Thomas Paine, the Federalist Papers, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, the US Constitution, John Adams Thoughts on Government and so on it is so clear that what they said then still is valid today. I'm concerned that our populace is being wooed by unsavory politicians who do not have liberty and freedom in mind for our future. I feel like I'm trying to veer a ship from an iceberg with nothing but a toothpick for a paddle. Any suggestions? I have found a site with all of these great writings under "Pillars of Liberty" at http://www.campaignforliberty.com/ Please tell me your thoughts. Am I asking too much of my fellow citizens to educate themselves?

3 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhy do people insist on voting for a duopoly that will not benefit them?
We all know what a monopoly is and we usually reject them on principle. Why then do people support a duopoly in elections? Why do people constantly think that if they voted something other than Democrat or Republican that they are wasting their vote? Does the media have everyone that brainwashed from the third party media blackout? Aren't we destined to become completely Socialist if we vote for either one of these two non-choice candidates? And why are so many people so receptive to Socialism in this country, haven't they studied history at all? Don't they see the freedoms we will all ultimately lose? Speak to me folks! Please, tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way or at least tell me your views on this.
3 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy are there so many who don't know the history of gov't, foreign policy, money and the Constitution?
I would like to know why people cant seem to see further than the last two terms of Presidency to see how we got where we are today. For example the creation of the Fed in 1913, the loss of the gold standard in 1971. The creation of money out of thin air that is backed by nothing. Our constant foreign meddling dating back 100 years. The uncontrollable profiteering from war and suffering by corporations connected to government.
Why are people so uneducated about the Constitution and their rights? Why has everyone accepted clearly Unconstitutional practices out of sheer convenience and fear mongering without the use of common sense? Please, I'm looking for signs of intelligent life on the North American Continent (particularly the United States). Tell me what you think of these references:

http://www.addictedtowar.com/bookpreview.html
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121677050160675397...
Read the books ; War is a Racket by Smedley D. Butler
Ron Paul, The Revolution
The US Consitution and The Bill of Rights
These references take time to view/read but they are worth the effort. Am I the only one who is putting this all together or what?
7 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhat is the deal with all these kids losing their minds, shooting up schools and commiting suicide?
Remember the days when people who were depressed just hid somewhere and offed themselves? No one else ever got physically harmed. I would like to know what everybody thinks on this. Why do you think this is happening? Is it the publicity making it popular? Do we all need to go back to the old west and everyone carry their side arm in public places?
Are these young adults just spoiled and vindictive? I just can't see the reasoning for all these kids freaking out like this... What's your thoughts!
12 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoWhy are mainstream (2 party) Presidential candidates the only ones who ever get attention?
It seems to me there are alot of people in our country that don't care about our system of government and the ways elected officials can make changes that effect us all.
Isn't it obvious that not voting your conscience is just cheating
yourself? Instead of voting with their hearts, it seems people would rather choose the lesser of two evils from 2 parties than stray from the normal and vote for maybe an independent or someone that best fits their own character.
Why is it when there is a national televised debate Democrats and Republicans are the only ones invited? Aren't we a more diverse nation than that?
The same 'ol same is getting pretty lame! Come on folks, we can do better! What are your thoughts on making other candidates heard?
