No question here, just want to say: On this day, thanks to those of you who have served, and strength to those who have lost loved ones.?
No matter what political side we take, we have the right to do so because of the sacrifice and bravery of our fellows.
And I am grateful.
Politics5 years agoMake your official prediction here! Who do you think will win, and what will the electoral count for each side be? Serious answers please!?
If you want to take a stab at the popular vote too, have at it.
Grand prize is...um...nothing. Bragging rights, I guess? :)
6 AnswersPolitics5 years agoSerious question: who is your preferred candidate, and what is their biggest weakness?
Hoping for SERIOUS discussion, please. "My candidate is Hillary except she's an incompetent liar who should burn in hell", is not helpful, nor is "My candidate is Trump except his Nazi uniform doesn't fit." Please provide legitimate answers.
To start: I like Sanders, but his constant talk of "revolution" may very well turn off moderate voters, and he's going to need them.
15 AnswersPolitics5 years agoRepublicans: who is your preferred GOP nominee for 2016, and why? Serious answers, please.?
eg. if you pick Trump over the others, why him? Or Rubio; why him? Hoping for real discussion, please. This is about GOP candidates and there's no reason to bring up Obama or Clinton or Sanders at all. Just want to see why, out of the GOP candidates, you prefer the guy (or lady) that you do.
And Democrats, if you participate, please be respectful. "They all suck" is not a useful answer either. Thanks!
10 AnswersPolitics5 years agoAs of today, who do you think will be the nominee from each party? And, have your predictions changed since the last time you made them?
Hoping for serious discussion, please. (I'm still sticking with my Clinton/Bush race, but am a little less confident than in the past.) Thanks!
6 AnswersElections6 years agoLiberals: what, to you, is the worst thing Obama did in office? And Conservatives: what, to you, is the best thing Obama did in office?
Looking for SERIOUS answers and civil debate, please. "Nothing, he sucks" and "destroying the country" are not useful answers, nor is "Obama is the bestest ever P.S. Bush sux". No president is all good or all bad, so I'm interested to see where people think he's succeeded and/or failed. Thank you.
13 AnswersPolitics6 years agoWho do you think will be the first Republican nominee to drop out of the race? Pick one only, please, and feel free to explain your choice.?
I'm especially curious to hear answers from the Republicans here but all are welcome. Be civil, please.
7 AnswersPolitics6 years agoSerious question: who is the least objectionable nominee in the opposite party for you?
Liberals choose the least objectionable Republican, and Conservatives choose the least objectionable Democrat. I'm interested in serious, non-trivial answers, please. "None of them" is not useful.
10 AnswersPolitics6 years agoProbability question (quick, I hope)?
I have 462 ping-pong balls. 167 of them are red. If I choose 7 of them, without replacement (i.e. I don't put them back after choosing), what is the probability that all 7 are red? How do I solve this?
Thank you in advance!
4 AnswersMathematics9 years agoBeef carpaccio?
Every recipe I've seen for carpaccio suggests at least searing the beef loin before it is cut. I purchased some loin that is *already* thinly sliced...does anyone have any suggestions for how to prepare the meat at this point? Thanks in advance...
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes2 decades agoHelp with "fried soup" recipe?
I remember watching a cooking show, and seeing a great recipe for this dish. The basics are as follows: make a consomme, then chill it until it solidifies. Then take scoops of the chilled consomme and coat them completely in a batter. Then fry the batter. When served the heat will have liquified the consomme again, but it will all be contained within the batter.
Has anyone else seen this, or have a link to a similar recipe? I'd love to try making this.
3 AnswersCooking & Recipes2 decades agoCan anyone help with translation into Czech?
I need a translation of "I am Canadian" into Czech. (The speaker is female, if that makes a difference.)
If possible, could you respond with the answer as it would appear on paper (i.e. in Czech), AND a pronunciation guide (i.e. phonetically)?
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.
1 AnswerOther - Education2 decades agoThe names of two painters who made "likable" and "unlikable" art? Please see details.?
Two artists, as a project, did a survey where they asked people what they most liked to see in paintings, and did a painting with all those items. They did a second survey asking what people least liked to see in paintings, and did a piece with those characteristics. Who were the artists, and are those pictures anywhere online?
Thanks in advance, I can't remember and it's driving me bonkers!
