  • Anybody think Obama is the worst negotiator in history?

When are Dems going to get a backbone & tell him NO? Why would he put SS on the chopping block when it's not even contributing to the debt? Why has he bought into the crap about about austerity? Exactly what Greece did to go bankrupt.

  • Know why other countries laugh at the United State's democratic process?

We are one country but have 50 states that implement their own set of rules. Every Republican Governor required photo ID. No Democratic Governor's did. Some states allowed early voting, others didn't. Some polls close at 7, some at 8, some at 9. Some states require a paper ballot, others are electronic. We have proven over & over again that the electronic machines are flawed, but yet continue to use them. We continue to have election day on the 1st Tuesday in November despite it being a working day for most Americans. What kind of a democratic process is it really, when we know our politicians are for sale to the highest bidder for campaign contributions so long as he does their bidding.

Is their anyone else out there that thinks we should have one set of rules for the country and that election day should be a national day off or at the very least, be held on the weekend?

  • Do middle class Republicans not realize that Romney plans to eradicate the two largest tax breaks we have?

I'm talking about the mortgage interest rate deduction and child care credit. Once it's gone, it's gone. It's the only real exemption the middle class is allowed. Don't any of you own homes? Have kids, grand kids?

When you going to realize Republicans are not working for you? They are working for reelection and campaign donations and life time healthcare paid for by you & me.

  • Know why Republicans must end Obamacare?

It's a dreaded regulation of the insurance companies & good for ALL Americans.

They will no longer be able to raise their rates for no reason. They currently raise them 20% a year. Every 5 years your rates to insurance companies will double. How long do you think any of will be able to maintain that?

Forget the other perks like...like not being able to kick you out if you have preexisting conditions, or if you get ill, or if you're a woman & your rates are double than if you're a man, etc, etc, etc.

If Americans actually figure out, they might not be so willing to vote Republican this time around. For once, I wish they would.

  • What do you think of all the new state laws in the US restricting voting @ the polls?

This is clearly a civil violation of the Voting Rights Act.

  • Is Obama a Democrat in name only (DINO)?

His economic policy is a Republican policy of trickle down-kept Bernanke for 2 terms as Fed Chairman (Bush's choice) gave 2 trillion dollars to the big banks & Corporations in the hopes they would lend it to Americans & small businesses-we know how well that turned out. Not to mention Geitnor (Republican) former President of the NYSE who never reined in Wall Street banks that led to the crash.

Foreign Policy-kept all Generals & personnel of Bush, but he then increased troops in Afghanistan, increased drones in Pakistan & Yemen, never closed GITMO, still have troops in Iraq, decided on Military Tribunals instead of Civil Courts, negotiates with Republicans @ every turn including tax cuts for the rich. Am I missing something?

  • What gives Obama the right to choose a bipartisan panel in the Senate to create a budget plan?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there 3 separate but equal branches of Govt? Then to top it off, Obama chooses 3 of the most conservative Democrats to go up against 3 hardcore (we're not gonna back down) idealogical Republicans who have something to prove to their base!

No wonder he's losing his base.

  • If Trunp were to run for President, would it hurt Obama or the Republican that runs more?

Assuming Trump runs as an Independent. I'm reasonably sure the Republicans would not back him as a nominee.

  • Does Obama risk alienating the base to woo the Independent vote?

Democrats lost a lot of seats in the House & the Senate for a variety of reasons. Attempting to negotiate with the gang of 6 over health care, giving up on the public option blue dogs, etc. I think a lot didn't go to the polls because of the weak leadership of the Democratic Party in general. He keeps negotiating with Republicans and giving, giving, giving to show indepents how centrist he is. Doesn't he realize the base diidn't come out in 2010 for a reason?

  • Does anyone know who the last Republican President was to balance the budget?

It was Dwight Eisenhower!! So when Republicans say they are concerned about the deficit...it's a farce. They continue to give tax cuts & subsidies to the rich. Tax cuts to the rich are the #1 cause of the deficit. Why don't Americans get it? They dupe Americans into believing that keeping taxes low for Corporation will create jobs. Yet, there were 10 yrs of tax cuts from Bush and he created the least number of jobs of any of the last 5 Presidents. Corporations are not job creators. They cut jobs & ship jobs overseas.

    5 AnswersGovernment1 decade ago
  • How would you fix the deficit?

Would you tax millionaires & billionaires.

End the Bush era tax cuts.

Stop subsidies to big oil companies.

If you have a better idea...let me know so I can contact my Congress members daily & let them know, OK?

  • Will middle-class Republicans be happy when there is no such thing as public school?

Republicans have been trying to eliminate the Dept of Education for years. It's called privatization. Charter Schools vs Public Schools. Please keep voting for Republicans because education SHOULD BE a privilege and NOT a right.

  • Will middle-class Republicans be glad when Social Security is only a memory?

Will you please keep voting Republican so that Republican Congressmen (and women) can privatize Social Security & put it on the stock market like they did our retirement (401k'S), not to mention the equity we ONCE HAD in our homes? Republicans have been trying to privatize SS for years. Gonna let them??

  • Did Obama just sell the Democrats down the river again on the tax cuts?

Tax cuts for the middle class vs tax cuts for the rich.

According to David Stockman (Reagan's financial advisor) & Alan Greenspan (Bush's Fed Chairman) all the tax cuts must expire to get us back to fiscal prosperity.

It's obvious that the Bush tax cuts did not create jobs and only increased the deficit by $700 Billion. That is absolutely insane. And yet, rather than fighting for the middle class-Obama sends Geitner out to negotiate the tax cuts to decide how the Dems should proceed. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of Obama not standing up for anything. He's the biggest reason why the Dems lost so bad in Nov.

They should push the middle class tax cuts thru reconcilliation EXACTLY the same way Bush did. Twice.

Information about a major US Bank. I'm guessing Bank of America. Will they stop him before that happens?

  • Are Republicans afraid of an FDR New Deal program?

I keep hearing Republicans (one after the other) say that the New Deal didn't work. What planet are these people from?

It's the last time we had TRUE infrastructure reform. It's where we got our roads, our bridges, our dams, etc. Now those infrastructure projects are left up to the states. States can't keep up with their budgets now so, how can they possibly keep up with road & bridge repairs, etc.?

We need a new electric grid across the nation. Every time there's an ice/snow storm, a tornado, a hurricane, or bad weather in general, citizens lose power for weeks at a time. What if there was a real crisis in the US such as a war on the home turf or a series of terrorist attacks? Come on! This is the 21st Century!

Why are we allowing the Republicans to keep us from making America the best that it can be? Instead, we are paying for infrastructure programs in Iraq, Afghanistan & other places around the world. Does that make any sense to you?

  • Have the US elections boiled down to pork barrel spending?

    What about ...

    The economy?

    Oil prices?

    Health care

    The war?

    Education?

While I agree, pork barrel spending needs to be stopped, it is NOT the issue that the majority of Americans are concerned about. According to the media today, McCain/Palin have turned the tables touting to reform Washington of ear marks and yet, not one word about the issues that concern Americans.

  • How do I create a link to another destination?

For instance, I am on Y/A & want to send people to BarackObama.com. If I understand it right, I type in <a href="http://www.barackobama.com/index.php%3E%3C/a%3E. I know this is the right address for Obama. But when I type this in, it doesn't become a link. Can you tell me "specifically" what I am doing wrong?

    2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade ago
  • What do you think of McCain's new strategy?

    Hire Carl Rove back.

Create a distraction so you don't have to discuss the issues

Nominate a VP who's an extreme rightist with little experience.

Claim yourself as the change agent.

Say "I'm going to change Washington" even though you're part of the problem.

Then claim your opponents are too inexperienced to run the country.

Run as many negative ads as you can. Did I miss anything? Oh yeah, get a bunch of lobbyists to run your campaign. That's change we can believe in....sure is!
