What can I do for my 6 year old's hair...?
My 6 year old daughter had gotten lice about a month and a half ago and while I am almost 100% sure that the lice is gone completely I have noticed a lot of dryness and flaking in her hair. Just to put a little history to the question...for the lice I first tried the Nix shampoo rinse which was absolutely worthless and did nothing. Then about 2 weeks later I did the R & C shampoo. That did the trick. I pulled out all the nits and dead lice, and then did a reapplication of the R & C a week later (since thats what the box says). I wanted to do yet another application (just to be sure the lice was completely gone) but the pharmicist said that more then 2 apps are not recommended. But my question is: is the dryness and flaking due to the shampoo probably? And what can I do to help it? Any suggestions would be appreciated...thanks!
3 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoHelp please...my 6 year old has gotten lice...?
My 6 year old daughter has gotten lice. I have no idea from where...I guess school is a possibility but I am thinking it is probably from a haircut she got about 3 weeks ago. Anyways, I did the shampoo (Nix) last Saturday and then changed all her bedsheets and pillowcases and washed out her hat and scarf and everything. And then I started checking for nits and live lice twice everyday. I reduced it to once a day a few days ago, and up until yesterday it seemed like I had gotten most of them. But this morning I was just coming her hair with a nit comb without even really looking and then I started to see the lice again. I got out about 10 of them today! And this is without even trying to look for them...I plan on doing the shampoo again tomorrow, but does anyone have any suggestions that could help to get rid of them faster? I have heard of the tricks of using oil and lemon juice and vaseline and vinegar, but I have also heard that they dont necessarily work. Anything anyone can suggest that they know works? Thanks!
8 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoDoes anyone remember the Brady Bunch Movie...?
Does anyone remember a Brady Bunch movie that came out many years with all the original cast members (with maybe the exception of one or two) that had Bobby as a race car driver and he gets in an accident? I am pretty sure it was after the Christmas movie (A Very Brady Christmas) but I cant remember what it was called. Does anyone else remember this also, or is my memory just playing tricks on me? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

2 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoAntibiotic side effects...?
My daughter is 5 years old and got a throat infection over the weekend. She got her antibiotic and did really well the first day. She was about 90% better, but then the next day she started to get a high fever again. So I took her back to the doctor and he gave her another antibiotic (Biaxin). She is doing well on it but she is having dirrahea. She has to go almost everytime she eats. I know that this is a common side effect for an antibiotic but I want to do something to help her. I called the pharmicist and he said that it is common and nothing can be done unless it is really bad, and in that case her medicine would have to be changed again.
Is there anything anyone can recommend for the diarrahea? I have already been keeping her on a light diet (which is difficult because she is very picky eater but still I try) and I have been giving her lots of fluids as well. Anything else that anyone can reccomend? Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

After many years, Cinderella finally reached the ripe age of 95 years old.
After a fulfilling life with the now dead prince, she now happily sits upon her rocking chair, watching the world go by from her front porch, with a cat named Bob for companionship. One sunny afternoon out of nowhere, appeared the fairy godmother.
Cinderella says, "Fairy Godmother, what are you doing here after all these years"?
The fairy godmother replied, "Cinderella, you have lived an exemplary life since I last saw you. I'm prepared to grant you three wishes. Is there anything for which your heart still yearns?" Cinderella was taken back, overjoyed, and after some thoughtful consideration, she uttered her first wish:
"The prince was wonderful, but not much of an investor. I'm living hand to mouth on my disability checks, and I wish I were wealthy beyond comprehension. Instantly her rocking chair turned into solid gold. Cinderella said, "Ooh, thank you, Fairy Godmother"

I thought this was funny, it took me a minute to get it but....what do you think?
All of his life Len from Cape Breton had heard stories of an amazing family tradition. It seems that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all been able to walk on water on their 21st birthday. On that day, they'd walk across the lake to the boat club for their first legal drink.
So when Len's 21st birthday came around, he and his pal Corky took a boat out to the middle of the lake. Len stepped out of the boat and nearly drowned!
Corky just managed to pull him to safety. Furious and confused, Len went to see his grandmother. 'Grandma, it's my 21st birthday, so why can't I walk across the lake, like my father, his father, and his father before him?'
Granny looked Len straight in the eyes, and said, 'Because, you idiot, your father, grandfather and great grandfather was born in January, you were born in July.'

virgin girl is on the phone and asks her boyfriend to come
over and have dinner with her parents. Since this is such a
big event, the girl announces to her boyfriend that
after dinner, she would like to go out and make love
for the first time.
Well, the boy is ecstatic, but he has never had sex
before, so he takes a trip to the pharmacist to get
some condoms. He tells the pharmacist it's his first time and
the pharmacist helps the boy for about an hour.
He tells the boy everything there is to know about condoms and
sex.
At the register, the pharmacist asks the boy how many
condoms he'd like to buy, a 3-pack, 10-pack, or family
pack. The boy insists on the family pack because he
thinks he will be rather busy, it being his first time and all.
That night, the boy shows up at the girl's parents
house and meets his girlfriend at the door. "Oh, I'm
so excited for you to meet my parents, come on in!"
11 AnswersJokes & Riddles1 decade agoCan this possibly be depression?
I am not sure but I think I might have depression. I live with my in laws and I am constantly unhappy. I dont like talking much to anyone, even my husband at times. I have two little girls and they mean the world to me. They are very attached to me, and I cannot even bear it if they not with me. I think that it has been months now since I have even laughed openly. I constantly have very unhappy thoughts and self dscriminating thoughts. I am always putting myself down. In my thoughts as well as out loud. I have gained a whole bunch of weight in the last year or so. No matter what I do I am not able to get out of this rut that I seem to be in. I want to be able to show happiness to my girls, but sometimes I think that I am no longer capable of that. My husband is not a very communicative person so it very hard for me to talk to him. I want to really be able to talk to anyone about this but find that I am at a loss for words whenever I try. I am not happy about having to live with the....
11 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoRefrigeration?
Is it true that a fridge wont cool properly unless you have the top (freezer) on and something frozen in it? We have an old fridge in our basement and only you the bottom (fridge) part of it and in the past month or so milk has gotten spoiled in it twice. I think that it is just a coincedence that that happened, since we have been using it like that for more then two years now...but my in laws are saying that since we have turned off the top freezer part and have nothing in that part thats why the fridge isnt cooling properly. Can this be true?
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoShould I be worried?
I have a 3 1/2 (almost 4) year old daughter, and she has not been feeling well for the past 5 days or so. She has been to the doctor and he said that she has a throat infection. She has been taking antibiotics for it since yesterday and she has been on Advil since last Friday due to a fever. Anways, my question is that she gets constipated very easily and she has not gone poop for the past 3 days now. On Saturday she went 4 times and I thought she might be getting Diarreha but ever since Sunday she has not gone at all. Her throat really started hurting her on Sunday and since then she hasnt been eating hardly anthing at all, which I think is the cause of the constipation. But since she gets constipated so easily it is worrying me.I gave her a laxative medication today since it has been 3 days now,and since today she started eating a little. But do you think I should be concerned or is this normal when a child has an infection?Sorry for the long question. Any advice would be appreciated!
7 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoA Bleeding Question?
I finished my period about 3 weeks ago (Sept 1) and since a week after that I have been bleeding again. At first it started out light and brownish in colour, but now it is red and a little heavier. But the thing is that it is not even continuous. It starts in the morning a little heavy and stays for a few hours and then by nighttime it completely fades away. Then in the morning it starts again.I know that it cant be pregnancy because I have an IUD.I dont know what kind though.
I went to the doctor last week and she sent me for blood tests and an ultrasound, which I got done on Friday.I asked the person who did the ultrasound and she said that the funny thing is that I dont have any blood in my ovaries.I asked her if everything is ok and she just said that she took her pics and now the doctor would tell me.I know that the are not allowed to tell. If there is anyone (doctors) out there who can tell me what this might be I would be really grateful...
4 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoWhat is this?
I just finished my period like, maybe, last week (roughly sept 1) and now for the past few days I have been spotting (since roughly sept 8). Sometimes the spotting is a little heavier bleeding and sometimes it is just spotting. And sometimes the color is a little brownish and sometimes just red. I dont understand why this is happening. I know that it cant be pregnancy because I did get my period last week and also because I have and IUD. Any ideas what this could be? Also my period that ended last week was a few days early.

Does anyone else's kids like the Doodle Bops? My kids have just recently started watching them and going crazy over them. Does anyone else think that Rooney (the blue one) looks kinda like Greg from the Brady Bunch (70s show)? I dont know why, everytime I see him I think that he resembles Greg so much! He doesnt look like him without the makeup, just with it. I was just wondering if anyone else also sees a resemblence or not?
