  • Just asked a question in what I thought was 'Philosophy' -it's been put in family & relationships, marriage & divorce, ideas?

Am wondering if Yahoo and it's owners are a little offended that I've finally rediscovered this excellent service minutes and hours before it is to close?

  • Book and movie clubs in London?

Any decent book & movie clubs within 10 minutes of Baker Street, that do not require membership of some sort of -meeting up- or home hosting organisation ; D?

  • why does yahoo not care about (specifically) it's users?

Yahoo would not exist without it's users. Although it is a legacy provider; I've been using it's services for getting on for 14 years (so I'm a legacy user! *smile*), so why does it seem to not care at all what it's users want?

(for example, my mail/inbox facility worked fine right up until I was 'forced' [force was used] to swap to the 'new' yahoo they had been pushing for ages, and now I can't navigate my inbox properly and instead of having troubles with the search engine, I now just rx a standard 'We're sorry but we cannot... blah blah blah... the mail you searched for'. Why have something that worked, that people were happy to use, and replace it with something that does not, that many people have and I imagine, are complaining about. Certainly be silent, ignore us, that is definitely good business practice).

As I said, I'm just curious.

  • finance- refusal of a proposed loan?

about ten years ago I borrowed a little money with which to buy a 125.

the finance company were so happy with me, that as soon as I had paid off the last installment, they asked me if I wanted to borrow more money for something else (I didn't).

since then I've paid off a significant borrow and am techically paying off another loan with a high street bank.

however, when I recently went via a dealership, to get a proposal for another loan for a different motorcycle, I was refused.

having contacted the lender, one of their staff told me that a credit rating is individual, and is unlikely to be tied to a particular address.

meanwhile I've had some separate issues with a council in the north where I studied an undergraduate degree, it's just dawned on me that they/one of their officials may have abused their power with regard to the misunderstanding that we had, and that they are somehow responsible for this- does anyone have any ideas as to why someone that has a long history of repaying loans should suddenly get refused?

any help would be lovely :)
