  • Why is email I read still showing up as unread?

For many months now, emails I read still show up as unread. They used to go from a bolder print to less bold, after reading. Now, they do not change at all. Even if I mark them as read, they never change. This makes it very difficult to sort through large amounts of email, and Yahoo seems to have no answers at all. Anyone here have some idea how to fix this? Using Firefox (version 12), system up to date, etc.

  • Why can't the media see that Newt Gingrich is the clear winner?

After last night's debate, it was clear who was in control, who had real answers, who was experienced, and who was tough enough to do the job. That person is Newt! Yet today, all the media wants to talk about s Romney and Perry, and their near-fistfight. Why can't they see that when we have two guys that would be tossed out of a bar for their bad behavior, neither is a winner? Newt is the man.

  • Does anyone watch movies in the theater anymore?

These days, a good third or better of the questions posted here are "how can I watch this for free?" What's up with that? It's illegal, and I can't believe people expect others to tell them how to illegally watch new, in theater, movies. Not to mention the (should be) obvious; how do you know that the person posting isn't a cop? Come on; can we PLEASE stop hearing this question over and over again? Movie discussions, recommendations, etc, all great. Asking for help with a crime? Not so great. Opinions?

  • Unable to insert addresses for email?

All of a sudden, the "insert addresses" feature isn't working. I can open it, check the boxes, and click to insert, but instead of the addresses being added, I get some stray code, and nothing happens. Tried as regular address, bcc, etc, and nothing works. No system changes that would have caused this. No error message, nothing but the little window with a bit of code, and an email with no addresses added.

If you have no answer but "someone already answered this", don't bother posting, unless you are including an actual LINK for the information. Not to be rude, but in a search, that was the best answer someone gave. No link, no real info; I guess getting poins was more important to them than helping someone out. So, real help, or share if you have the same issue.

For the record, I have reported this, and will share any response I get (if any).

  • Is it 2009 or 1984? Big Brother is alive and well.?

How's this for behavior that ought to scare the crap out of any thinking person? The White House is now asking people to report those that would express a different opinion, to a White House site that collects data on such people. Since this is a clear violation of the law, which prohibits the government from collecting information on those exercising their Constitutional rights, how do those of you who defend this man explain this behavior? Do you approve of this Orwellian tactic?

  • Problem watching Netflix movies online!?

I have a fast comp, great internet connection, and everything updated, but for some reason, the online movies play a few minutes then stop. I can replay them and get a few more minutes, but that's no way to watch a movie. Both Netflix and my ISP claim the issue is with the other guy, and that they can't find a problem. Any suggestions would be welcome.

  • Problems with picture and file sharing? Read this!?

I have had a lot of issues with file and photo sharing on YM. Many of you have posted as well. I found the problem in my case, and want to share it. Do you use Norton? If so, that could be your issue. The Symantec Network Proxy, that is used for their parental control feature, blocks the file sharing. If that is turned off, you can once again share pictures and files. However, there is a drawback - the parental control no longer blocks websites. At this point, I do not have a solution from Norton, but will post if/when I get one. Their suggestion now is to use a new online monitoring program in place of the parental control. So, There is the info I have - hope it helps. Can offer details if anyone is interested. Would appreciate tips if anyone has those as well.

  • MAJOR ISSUE with file/photo sharing!!!!?

For two months now, I have been unable to share either files or photos with YM. I have tried removing and reinstalling the latest Messenger, even using some odd directions from Yahoo for doing so. NOTHING works. I have sent them log files, and have received no response. Note that this worked fine for ages, and stopped in mid-June. Pictures stay pixeled forever, irregardless of size (and with good DSL connection on both ends), and files simply get an error and will not transfer. I even tried removing the entire program, and manually deleting the registry file, to be sure the new download was clean, to no avail. My antivirus/firewall is set to allow all Yahoo stuff, so that isn't the issue. Nothing changed on my system when this started being an issue. Other people had a problem, but it resolved. Mine hasn't I need help! Using an under-six-month-old HP with XP Media Center Edition. Appreciate some real help, as not anticipating any from Yahoo at this point. Thanks!
