  • Given the evidence concerning mothers with asthma and breastfeeding, do you think there may be an autism link?

The latest studies on breastfeednig and asthma confirm that mothers with asthma who breastfeed raise the risk of the child having severe asthma by 6 - 9 x's over the children of mothers with asthma who formula feed. The composition of the breastmilk is different (lacking in long chain fatty acids and containing markers that apparently trigger asthma genes). Given this do you think there is a possibility that the same holds true for autism? We know that autism in the past has been under diagnosed because the symptoms weren't recognized. Is it possible that mothers with mild undiagnosed autism are triggering more severe autism in their children by breastfeeding?

  • Were you aware that 80% of smokers don't get lung cancer?

turns out I was right. If you have te *cancer* gene, then smoking gives you cancer (The new studies, published in Nature and Nature Genetics, found that smokers who possessed one copy of either variant were 28% more likely to develop lung cancer, while those with two copies were at a stunning 81% increased risk for the disease.)

What do you think this means for research and for the anti-smoking campaign?

  • Bill Clinton Spouse or Former President?

On NBC this morning President Clinton was asked about his remarks concerning Obama. He said that were he got into trouble was that he forgot that he is not the same as other spouses of political candidates. That he is a former president and so his support of his wife and any statements he makes will be seen in a political as opposed to personal light.

    do you agree?

  • explanation please?

whomever reported this, want to give your reasons?

Catholics are more biblically based. Do some research on both and you will quickly see that while protestant claim Catholics are not biblical and don't follow the bible that in reality Catholics follow it more closely then most protestants Catholics do not EVER revere Mary above Jesus, we revere her as the Mother of Christ, the one with whom Jesus as he dying made sure was taken care of after his death...as an example that we all should strive to emulate...we believe that as the mother of Christ she is the mother of all christians and must be respected and loved as such. for those that claim we *pray* to Mary...you haven't read your bible have you we ask Mary to pray for us..because we believe she is alive in heaven and still working for the glory of God. Hail Mary, full of Grace The Lord is with you Blessed are thou among women And Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus (Luke 1:28, we are quoting the Bible) Holy Mary Mother of God

  • Are Fundamentalist of any religion Addicts?

do you agree with this?. It's their addiction to thinking they are right. an addiction to believing they have a corner on the market of truth. an addiction to a "made-truth," that is, to a belief that the truths they've created in their minds are indeed absolute truths that everyone else must be made to believe in the same truths lest they perish.

They are addicts. And like other addicts, they do not respond to logic or sound arguments. Like other addicts, in order to feel good, they must believe that their made-truth is the only reality, and they must, therefore, defend that truth against any outside influence. Like other addicts, anyone who threatens to keep them from believing their made-truths is seen as a threat to their own good feelings - or in other words, to be opposed to their brand of made-truth is to be a threat to their personal value as humans, and thus they will attack with ferocity anyone who even questions their veracity. http://elroy.net/ehr/fighttheright.html

  • Is blind belief a sin?

Since God gave us brains and reasoning ability doesn't He expect us to use that ability? Isn't not doing so and just accepting something blindly (bible, words of preacher, vatican statements, etc) telling God that He was wrong to give us reasoning ability?

  • James 2:24 says [24] Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.?

So the bible literally says not by faith alone, so how can anyone claim to be a bible literalist and claim that salvation is by faith alone?

also go here for other verses in the bible that show faith and works are required. http://www.catholicculture.org/library/view.cfm?re... meaning this is not just one verse that can be explained away out interpeted away.
