  • Help me find a song?

I heard a song in Kroger earlier tonight. The lyrics were hard to hear and figure out, It sounded like the band/singer (a guy) was singing Pretty Strange. Actually, Strange was drawn out for a bit, like Strrrraaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnngeeeeeeeee. Maybe it was something else, but that was what it sounded like. Maybe it was really strange, pretty same, etc There was also a line about drinking or sipping or something like that.

The song itself sounded roughly around 80s or early 90s, like 86-93. The song seemed like a college radio/rock song.

  • Computer hijacked or virus - what to do? Any Freeware that works offline?

Right now, I am at my guy's house but I just drove as fast as I could here. I was at my house using my computer (looking at lyric sites) and my computer shut off. I didn't think much of it, because I thought I bumped something. An hour or so later, logged back in to my screen to find weird stuff happening in internet explorer and messages saying your computer has been infected with spyware and use this suspicious sounding software and my desktop image now had that on it with what appeared to be a clickable link. I am barely at home, but I need that computer tomorrow and clean. It's necessary. Anyway, my AVAST lapsed and needs to be rereged again but the program hijacking my computer won't let me go there or to trend micro house call. It always says gives that page won't load error for both pages.

Anyway, since I am at another computer is there any up to date, preferably (or has to be) free software antivirus software that I can download and that will run offline since I don't want do any more harm to my computer. I've searched for help on this issue and some say to do one thing and others said to do something else. I was wondering if anyone knew of anything specific for this issue. The last thing I want to do is reformat since my computer is old and I don't know where the installation discs are at and if everything is there. Plus I have my ipod music collection there too and that would take forever to get everything back. BTW my computer, the infected computer, is using XP. Currently I am on Vista.

  • Should I mention in a cover letter that I have applied before?

I am applying for a job that I have applied at many times before and even very recently. Usually, I apply through an application online, but I have not heard from this company over the years. Considering it is considered a retail job, I know they probably have many applicants. They do have another option of applying through the mail. I was going to send my resume with a cover letter saying why they should hire me (past experience as a sales associate/assistant manager and my interest in that area), that way I would stand out more. Now to my question, I am considering about mentioning that I have applied through their online system before, but have not had any response from them. Should I do that or will that kill my chances?

  • Job wages in Vegas for Hotel/Casino jobs?

I am from Michigan and I've been looking at jobs in the Las Vegas area. I have a couple friends that moved out there and I was there this summer (my first time in Vegas) for their wedding. Also I have a couple relatives just a few hours away in California. I've applied for a couple of jobs online that listed the wages, but many of the hotel and casino related jobs do not list the wages. I was looking at some hotel dispatcher, lost and found attendant, and front desk clerk jobs at some of the hotel and casino places. I've never worked in a hotel setting before, but have a little bit of dispatching experience and I've had 4 or 5 years of customer service experience. Anyone know about how much those jobs pay for someone with my experience or lack there of?

I am looking at the MGM hotel/casinos.

    Thank you.
