I have a friend who is 17 and lives in the UK. I think she needs to go to therapy because she fluctuates between very happy and very sad and when she is sad she often self-harms. She has also attempted to kill herself (a few years ago) and her main problem is that she doesn't know what's wrong. I suggested she goes to a therapist but her parents can't know about it because they wouldn't support the decision. If she went to her GP and got a refferal to a therapist would they legally have to contact her parents? Thanks so much in advance :)

I am doing am GCSEs this summer, am good at science and for a level i am taking biology, chemistry, physics, english lit and I'm doing philosophy now (early).

I plan to go to uni to go to med school but don't you have to do a degree before you do your doctor degree? If so what degrees are best and what universities around the london area-ish are good?

And then after becoming a doctor I have to specialise and what does that involve (how much time spent actually in uni, do you work in that field at the same time, who trains you etc?

I think I would prefer working in a busy hospital rather than a private practise- does anyone have any experience working in this type of environment and what is it like (typical day, how fun,etc) ?

Has anyone ever been to see a neurologist and what were they like?

My friend asked me to ask this- she is going out with this girl who has had 'sex' with girls before and my friend has too.
