I'm interested in buying a 2002 VFR800FI. I know these bikes had ABS as an option. Without attempting a hard braking maneuver on the bike, how can I tell that this particular bike has ABS? Does it appear as a code in the VIN, is there a tell-tale 'gadget' visible on the brakes lines?

Wife and I bought a great used Beetle, and this one issue slipped past in our investigation of the car.

There seems to be a defrost switch, a round dial, and L and R but I don't see exactly how to move the mirrors. Are they even remotely adjustable? Thanks very much!

As a corrolary question: is a full scale war with Russia actually a better idea than another Cold War?

In most other wars the US has been involved in, it's been easier to determine who wins and who loses. Governments surrender.

But when can we say that we've won in Iraq? What would have to happen for the US to say "Victory!" When can we say that we've won the War on Terrorism?

What events would have to happen in order for us to congratulate ourselves and return to peace?

I think this is a legitimate question, and I'm looking for serious, real answers no matter what your political affiliation is.

What makes a guitar good? If I buy a basic guitar for $150, and I customize it with improved hardware and good strings will it sound as good as something much more expensive? Or will I have a POS guitar with expensive pickups?

(by way of comparison - for examply only, no judgments implied - Dodge Neons aren't fantastic cars, but they're relatively cheap initially. The car tuner boys like them because they can customize them and turn them into pretty decent street cars)
