Is there a coach gun made in the US?
It seems that all coach guns - even those with nominally American brands - are made overseas. Does anyone make one in the US any more?
2 AnswersOther - Outdoor Recreation1 decade agoVice Presidential trivia!?
Dick Cheney is at least the second Vice President to shoot a lawyer while in office. Who was the first?
3 AnswersTrivia1 decade agoHas anyone ever seen Senator Obama eat a ham sandwich?
Yes, anyone who's checked knows he's not really a Muslim - wouldn't a photo of Barack eating pork be an effective disproof for those persistent nattering nellies?
(Note: Please be civil - we're trying to have a little fun here.)
21 AnswersElections1 decade agoIs this another secret punishment?
So, I had the audacity to challenge one of Y!A's arbitrary and pointless 'reports' - and now, strangely enough, it won't let me answer questions! Sure, I can view them and even write an answer - but the instant I click 'Submit,' they're suddenly taking a coffee break!
There's one question I've been trying to answer for several hours - over 100 attempts - and it shows the 'coffee break' message EVERY TIME! I can go anywhere else, view any other part of the site, but any time I try to submit an answer it says they're on a 'coffee break' again.
I hereby publicly accuse Y!A of engaging in secret punishments of anyone who dares to disagree with them. What do you all think?
9 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoIs Yahoo! Answer stuck in time?
I logged in at about 1 PM today, and all the questions are at least 13 hours old. Are there no new questions, or is there something wrong with the server? Has anyone else seen this?
3 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoCan you run for Vice President?
There's a common saying that nobody runs for Vice President; but could you actually campaign for VP instead of President? Any idea how it would work?
(If you have definite sources, please provide a link or reference. But it's fine to speculate wildly too...)
4 AnswersElections1 decade agoFeeding molly fry?
I work part-time at a place that sells fish; but they're not much for taking care of the little buggers. One of the mollies had fry recently; I got her into a separate tank Saturday night (with much complaining from the manager) and she dropped 15 fry last night. We have plenty of flake food which they are supposed to eat if it's crushed fine; although they didn't show much interest in it. More to the point, I don't think anyone else will feed them.
So, the questions I have are:
1) What's the best thing to feed them?
2) Is there anything which can be left for extended feeding, in case I can't get there to feed them and can't rely on anyone else to?
3 AnswersFish1 decade agoHow do I find out which companies advertise on a given channel?
Aside from the obvious method of watching it (which is easy but takes time), is there a quick way to look up who advertises on a specific cable channel?
I'm specifically interested in History Channel and related A&E company channels.
1 AnswerOther - Television1 decade agoSecret Punishments?
Recently I called Y!A on their bogus 'error' messages when you try to report certain users who have an exemption from being reported. I got their usual bullcrap stonewalling message, 'playing stupid' and claiming it must be some mysterious problem with my internet connection. (I know it's nonsense because it ONLY occurs on the report page and ONLY with certain posters. And I checked the connection.)
Now, by some 'coincidence,' any time I try to give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down I get 'Sorry, can't save your rating.' I think this is bogus too because it happens EVERY SINGLE TIME, and there are NO other problems with input/output. Again, I've checked the connection and made multiple scans for viruses, malware etc.
So, does anyone know if Y!A issue secret punishments like this for those who have the bad manners to call them on their lies?

40 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoIs the digital transition legal?
The government has mandated that all TV must be digital by 2009. What enumerated power of the Constitution gives them the right to dictate what kind of technology we use, or to legislate any technology out of existence? Think of all the poor people who still use analog TV; who will be forced to buy expensive digital TV (none of which are made in the US) or do without. I think this is one more political favor to Chinese donors, at the expense of the American people. It is also *much* easier to hack or jam digital sources, making it easier to control mass communications. What do you think?

Does anyone know anything about this town? It's a suburb of Wilkes-Barre not far from Scranton. There's a place there which is hiring, but I'd have to move and want to know more about the community.
2 AnswersOther - United States1 decade agoIs there a place in the US friendly to animal rescue?
The state of CT is getting ready to make it a crime to shelter homeless animals unless you get a special license; which, if you register, will give them the right to barge in and 'inspect' private homes at any time, without cause or warning, and possibly fine people or throw them in jail for violations based on a completely arbitrary evaluation (i.e., they refuse to provide written standards). The purpose of this bill is to terorize all private rescuers into ceasing operations.
Between this and other corruption, I'm thinking of leaving. Is there any place in the US friendly to animal rescue, or at least willing to leave them alone?

7 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoWould you go to this church?
From a flyer for a new church in town. Something seems fishy:
We believe in the following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These White Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Whites are gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:
1.Commitment to God
2.Commitment to the White Community
3.Commitment to the White Family
4.Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5.Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6.Adherence to the White Work Ethic
7.Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8.Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness"
9.Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community
10.Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
11.Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
12.Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System
