  • Should I email a guy who gave me his business card?

So i met this gentleman at a large event last night. i was working the event, and he was a guest--when he came over and started talking with me. We proceeded to have a conversation about his business, what i am doing with my life, and what i plan on doing in the future. We shared jokes and laughter as well.. About 15-20 minutes into the conversation, he gave me his business card, said he enjoyed my entrepreneurial spirit, and told me to look him up on LinkedIn when I get back from teaching and traveling for the next few years, and then we parted ways.

Would it be inappropriate to email him today since he told me to look him up in a few years?

Are people with big businesses actually serious when they hand you their business card and ask you to look them up?

I ve never been approached like this before, and have no idea what to do.

    Any advice is appreciated!

  • Is it possible to acces US websites from overseas?

I'm going to teach in South Korea in a few months and would like to make sure I can access my current community college website, so I can take online courses while living abroad.

Is there something on the website that would let me know whether I would be able to access it while abroad? Should I double check to make sure it can be accessed online in another country?

Would I need a Proxy? What is a Proxy anyway? Also, how do I find that?

Any information on this subject would be very helpful as I have many more questions that I have not laid out.

  • what if i was injured 2 days after being fired?

I worked for a company for five years, then I quit in order to pursue a better job. I was with the new company for 3 weeks before they fired me. A few days after getting fired, I broke my foot and had to have surgery.

I don't know anything about workers comp or unemployment, or anything, but my question is; can I go back to my old job (the one I was with for 5 years) to see if they will help me? I ask because I wasn't even with that other company for a month..

Or do I just file unemployment with the state of California instead?

  • Is Human Resources allowed to invade my privacy and harass me during an investigation?

An unknown co-worker wrote a statement on another co-worker and I, claiming that we were engaging in some sort of sexual act while at work. This third person, who was observing from above claimed that they felt sexually harassed, but my co-worker and I have no idea as to what this other person is referring to. Nothing happened between us other than a hug before we left on the evening that the statement was written.

So my co-worker was called into Human resources today because the "case" is being investigated, and the HR lady apparently just completely invaded her privacy. She asked how often we see each other outside of work, what sort of conversations we have together and with other co-workers. She was asking about whether we talk about relationships in order to get onto the question of whether my co-worker and I are in a relationship or have ever been in a relationship. She asked who her closest friends are at work, whether she likes her job etc. My friend said that she felt as though this lady was trying to butter her up in order to get the "real" story. At the end of the interview, the lady began to raise her voice. She then proceeded to go into detail about what was written in the statement against us. Apparently the unknown co-worker witnessed my friend running her fingers up my leg and up my skirt!... The way that the HR lady described it was very vulgar and seemed very degrading and disgusting.

I am due to be called in to an interview with this woman tomorrow. I know that my co-worker and I did nothing wrong, but I also feel as though she shouldn't be allowed to interrogate me as though I were some sort of criminal with a light shining in my face. I do not want to be yelled at, nor do I want to be degraded and embarrassed in front of my manager, who will also be present.

My question is, is Human resources allowed to harass me like she did to my co-worker, by raising her voice and making false accusations, as well as asking personal questions over and over again as though we were hiding the truth. Can I call her out on it if she takes that approach with me?

Also, any advice as to how I should handle the situation would be greatly appreciated because I am very shy and feel as though she would try to walk all over me. If I knew what my rights were during the situation I would feel much more confident.

    Thank you for your help:)

  • How do I change the resolution of an image that I got off of the internet?

A friend of mine loves the movie, Fight Club, and wants a huge poster to put up on her wall of this one specific image. It sounds like an amazing idea and I thought I'd try to see if I could do this for her. I have a huge problem though, the image is not big enough. The images I have found are 1706x960 pixels, and another one is 2560x1600 pixels. I want to know if there is a way to blow up the image in order to fit at least a 24x36in. poster (bigger is better).

Can I change the size of the image or the resolution or the pixels (not sure which one i would change) so that the image comes out crisp and clear? Can I do it by myself? I'm not sure if these would be the correct programs to use, but I have Adobe Reader, and Microsoft Office Picture Manager...(Just the basic programs) not really any extra features, or anything like that.

    -OR-

Since I don't know anything about pixels, resolution, dpi, ppi, and all that stuff... is there a place I can take, or email the image to so that they can change the size etc. for me?

I plan on emailing the altered image to a poster printing company that will approve/disapprove the image and then print it for me.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

  • What should I do about my boyfriend's ex?? And what advice should I give to him?

My boyfriend's ex does not seem to want to get the hint and move on...

They were going out for about six months before they broke up, and because she does not have a good relationship with her parents, as well as the fact that they had been really good friends for about ten years, he's been letting her live with he and his roommates for the past four months. When he felt that she was getting closer, he would push her away and assure her that he did not want a relationship with her...she would get mad, move out, and be back the next day...

He and I started dating a few weeks ago...he told me about her right away but, he didn't tell her about me because he thought she would get mad and try to harass me. I'm not the jealous type, at all. I'm fine with her living there because I know what is going on between them, and I just want them to work it out so that I don't have to hide from her and his friends anymore.

Neither he nor I are confrontational people, so we aren't going to try to piss her off by flaunting the fact that he has, in fact, moved on from her. He wants her to accept that he just want to be friends with her, but she refuses to listen, and keeps finding ways to talk to him or go to the house, or even stay the night.

She'll send him texts or leave voice-mails that make him feel like an *** hole, and I have to watch as his face and his voice change from happy to crushed as he reads the messages out loud to me. He does not want to lose his friend, but we don't know what else to do.

    I have a few questions...

    1) What should I say to him to help console him when she sends these texts and voicemails?

    2) When he asks for my opinion on what he should do about certain things, for example, "She's at my house and wants to stay the night. She doesn't care that I said no. What should I do?" What can I say about things like that? I don't want to sound rude, I want to sound supportive because I am a supportive and patient person.

    3) I would like others' opinions on how this situation should be handled. Maybe you've been in this type of situation before. How did you deal with it, and how should we deal with it?

  • Can I learn French and Hebrew at the same time?

I want to learn French and Hebrew but will they be too difficult to learn at the same time?

What would you suggest as the best approach in learning new languages?

Also, what books or websites would you recommend I use?

Do you think children's books and dictionaries would be useful, and if so, which ones?

    Could you recommend specific titles?

I apologize in advance for all the questions, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

  • i have been gaining some weight lately, is it normal for my vagina to feel swollen because of this?

First of all, i'm definitely not PG, nor do I have an STD.

Secondly, my vagina has been feeling a little swollen/heavy over the past few days. It kind of feels like I have a lot of discharge that needs to come out but nothing more than usual ever does. There is also a slight burning sensation. So i'm resorting to blaming it on my weight gain (but I've only gained like 5 pounds). Does this sound reasonable or does it sound like something else and has anyone ever felt like this before?

P.S. It does not feel heavy/swollen or burning in or around the urethra so I've ruled out yeast infections etc.

    Thanks!!

  • I'm a 21 year old virgin whose scared to have sex. What should I do?

Once again, I'm a 21 year old virgin. I am not ashamed at all. In fact I'm quite proud to be a virgin seeing as women are so quick to jump into bed with the first guy they meet these days. My only problem is that I am sick and tired of constantly ruining relationships with guys I really like. As soon as things get serious enough for us to start having sex, I pull away. I stop answering phone calls, I stop wanting to hang out and eventually, I stop seeing them altogether, leaving them dumbfounded and wondering what the hell they did wrong.

Obviously I am scared to have sex and I've attributed it to my parents portraying sex as a really bad thing. I was kind of molested by my uncle when I was young. He was 12 and I was 6. He took me behind the house and tried to take off my pants, while telling me that he wanted to see what I tasted like. I ran before anything could happen. When I told my dad, he freaked out and pretty much acted like I was in trouble and sent me to my room until my mom got home from work (about four hours). Ever since then, they've instilled in my head that sex is pretty much a horrible thing causing me to be really scared of even allowing myself to become too close to others.

What should I do!? How can I stop being scared? How can I gain the confidence to have sex?

Any advice at all is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

  • Im confused about knowing when to be friends or when to date?

Do you date and then decide if you're just going to be friends or become friends to decide whether you should date?

i wanted to get to know each other first to give him the chance to get to know me and make sure he really wanted to enter into a serious relationship with me. We became best friends and now he's pissed cuz i have a boyfriend so he got a girlfriend to make me jealous. I don't like the girl he's with at all (long story short, he had sex w her and she was known for being F* buddies with a guy who slept with, at the very least, 15 girls and did some gay sh* w guys) though i'm not in the least bit jealous that he's with her.

I told him we couldn't be together even if they broke up cuz she and her possible diseases are all over him lol...the whole situation just really grosses me out and i don't know that i could ever be with him cuz he slept with her multiple times.

We got in a huge fight over the whole situation and he ended up spilling his heart to me, saying he's always loved me etc. I don't share the same feelings and after a while, had no intention of dating him.

He says that everything's my fault cuz i wanted to be friends first when he thought we should date and then decide whether we wanted to be together or just friends.

    So, who is wrong?

    Is this my fault?

    Is it his fault?

Finally, can we ever fully mend our relationship or would you think it best if we stopped being friends?
