4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality3 years agoShould she know?
Years ago I was raped. I am LDS and my husband and I agreed that taking the pill they offered to prevent conception would cause me untold guilt. So he took matters in hand, so to speak and reasoned that if he put his seed in me we should never know that the child that may result was not his. He died sometime later and I gave her for adoption. She has been told she is a child of rapeand now is about to be a other herself. She wanted to have any edical info on the assailants that I have(Ihave none). Should she know it is possible she was born in covenant?
9 AnswersFamily3 years agoWhat redress does a birthparent have if an open adoption agreement is not followed ?
After a time, it was as if my placement became a closed adoption only it was closed by the adopting couple? Now my daughter thinks I wanted too much inappropriate contact when I only asked for pictures on a yearly basis and a phone call occasionally.
4 AnswersAdoption6 years agoLDS: Are there some( in your opinion, )who ought not to be approached about the Plan of Salvation?
If to expose someone to our belief system might leave them in a precarious state, is it better not to evangelize them.I am thinking specifically of some Muslims for whom evangelization leaves them with a death threat.
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy are nonMormons so adamant that LDS women are subservient?
In my experience as a mormon woman it is just the opposite. Mormon men may have spiritual authority but are constantly admonished about their treatment of women, that they should treat women and girls in a Christlike manner. As for my household, it might be summed up in the phrase"If Momma ain't happy. ain't nobody happy".Fellow members esp. brothers please comment.

1 AnswerSociety & Culture7 years agoLDS:Is there any contemplative role within the Church?
As in the Catholic church( and the Anglican) have nuns whose sole existence is in the prayer for God's people. Most protestant churches employ the use of the prayer chain, which is typically overseen by laity who by informal calling, maintain a prayer outreach for others' concerns, maintaining an active list of those who might benefit from prayer. Since I am physically not too capable of physical aid to others, is there a contemplative calling within the Church- where I might be of use in a spiritual way?
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoLDS: For God's purposes, are you recorded as the sex you are born or the one you assume?
My relative bore a son some years ago- but now the province in which she resides has reissued his birth certificate to reflect a female gender. When she and her family were sealed, all three of her children were recorded as male. So, now does the Church(and the Temple) have to change their records?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoHow do you shut out the awful questions coming out of the woodwork now that school's out.spiritually speaking?
Seems every summer we have to wade through a lot of tripe.
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality7 years agoLDS:Have you ever been lectured about how you are going to hell?
How did you reply?
Today in church the speaker quoted J. Golden Kimball who upon being told he was going to Hell for being a Mormon, listened to the fellow who was a minister of another denomination and replied "I'd rather go to hell for being a Mormon than be a minister who didn't know where in Hell he was going" I guess the point of the talk was that most Mormons would never be as forward as he, never being so Unchristian as to so judge another.
