  • How can I remote access my child's school chromebook?

I recently became Guardian of my little brother and while I do not approve of invasive parenting in general, his issues doing his schoolwork and watching youtube and social media on his **school chromebook** while I am at work have become unmanageable. He does occasionally have school youtube videos to watch so I can't block youtube and he gets distracted on the internet in general.

Then he lies about what he has been doing all day. I have no plans to do so on his personal mobile phone etc - I just need remote desktop access and control of his school chromebook. **First note- the chrome remote desktop extension does not work, I think his school did something so that it can only connect for one time sessions with a generated code, which will not suit my purposes, so that one is out.I would prefer free, but am willing to pay a monthly subscription if it isn't too much and have no better options. While parental controls would be cool, my first priority is literally just being able to see what he is doing on his school chromebook **from my MAC** in real time. Second, it would be ideal to be able to remotely control it so I can ex out of a youtube tab on his laptop from mine, for example, if he isn't answering his phone - but I can live without this feature if needed. And third, it would be nice to be able to see what sites/apps he has been on for how many hours and at what times and just have general tracking in that way - in addition to live view.

  • Can I drive my deceased dad's car briefly (but long distance) before telling dealership so they can take it back? ?

My dad died overnight from a bacterial infection. I live in California, he lived in Missouri. I am 26 years old, my 13 year old brother lived with him in Missouri and it was my dad's, and is my and my brother's wish, for me to get custody and have him come live with me in California.

THIS question is referring to: If I fly out to Missouri, can I *get away with* packing up my brother and his things in my dad's car, drive the car to California, and then notify the dealership he has a loan with that my dad died so they can do what they want with the car?

It is a fairly new car so the loan my father has would be more than the car's worth and I do not want to make payments, but I can't afford the $800 for a rental car one way several days across country.

I know there are other factors and such - I just want to know if there is a way I can do this and not get in trouble.

So my grandpa, father's dad, is on my father's insurance and he can't drive it out, but can we get away with saying he drove it to california a week ago and then because of his health he had to fly back to Missouri? And then have my grandpa call the people that my dad has the car loan with and tell them he died and that the car is in california? And not mention me or my address or phone number? And I can leave the car somewhere it won't get towed? Can I swing this? Any other suggestions?

  • Can a 13 yr/o be legally placed in a home in which a (NOT related by blood) registered sex offender lives under any circumstances?

Yes I know this is all crazy. Anyway...

The details: My nephew lives with his grandma, but his mom wants him to move back in with her. She picked him up for a visit and now he doesnt want to come home to his grandma.

My sister lost custody of him multiple times (drug use and neglect), had worked to get him back until this last time and my mom has legal guardianship.

My sister married a guy that just got out of prison in March with multiple felonies and  is a registered sex offender, its supposedly for a BS reason but whatever.

My sister is convinced she can have my nephew living with her as a happy family, says she is sober, and that husband is "great guy" despite it all. She used my mom (the grandma) helping out my other sister recover from drug problems to threaten her with CPS and such, and now my other sister is not living at the home.

My mom has never done any drugs or really anything wrong ever, and just wants to do whats best for family, she is a manager at a brokerage firm. She doesnt know what to do - my 13 yr/o nephew is at his moms right now and doesnt want to come home so there is that immediate problem - but aside from the obvious moral implications -

**Is it even possible for social services to ever place my nephew with her and her husband? Is there any legal loop hole or anything she can pull if she tries force things- is it even legally possible even if everyone agreed?

I want answers backed by legal reasoning regarding social services and child placement.

  • Are newly established PhD programs relatively less competitive?

I am currently a student at University of California, Irvine with the Psychology and Social Behavior Major. I want to get a PhD in clinical psychology without traveling far - while UCLA has the #1 ranked clinical PhD program, it is incredibly competitive, they accept such a small number of applicants each year.

HOWEVER I found out that UCI is adding a Clinical PhD program in two years, which would be perfect for me. I d be applying for the very first year the program exists. I am wondering if newly established programs have less applicants even at highly regarded schools? Relatively speaking of course. Probably less people will know about it, and some choose only to apply to established schools (I heard a story of someone not wanting to apply to UCI s Law school when it was new, and it ended up very highly regarded, bet she regrets it now!)

**Does anyone have experience applying to new PhD programs at established schools? Anyone behind that process know the numbers? Do less people apply the first few years the program exists and then the applicants increase as time goes on?

I am going to have about a 3.8 GPA, solid letters of rec, and research experience, but even a great portfolio has no guarantees when you get 800 applicants to a program only accepting 10-15 students (like UCLA clinical PhD).

  • Anyone experienced in getting eye contacts online? Had issues searching and using correct prescription?

So, need advice on where and how. I have found websites that do contacts online based on your prescription, but cannot find accurate ones for my prescription, I also only have a prescription for glasses (I can't currently get a contact prescription) so I know it might be a little different anyway - it's okay if they aren't perfect, I will only where them occasionally for a couple hours at a time, but how do I convert them as accurately as possible under the circumstances?

My prescription for glasses is left eye -5.75 and right eye -6.25 cylinder -.50 and axis 0.75 (as in I only have astigmatism remaining in my right eye not left anymore).

Online I noticed the increments go up/down .25 UNTIL you REACH -6.0 then it goes -6.50, -7, -7.50 etc

    and the axis goes by 10s, 50, 60, 70, 80 (mine is 75)

Since glasses sit a few mm away from eyes and need to be stronger than contacts should I go .25 less anyway? So left eye -5.50 and right eye -6.0? Should I pick cylinder -.75 (since that is the lowest available) and axis 70? (or 80?)

Again, I know it might be perfect but any advice on getting it as close as possible would be helpful - I will get the contact prescription eventually, but in the meanwhile need to work with what I've got.

  • Which College test (ACT/SAT) did El Modena High School take in 2010?

Hey there, I graduated from El Modena High School in Orange, CA in 2011, so I probably took the college test in 2010.

I am trying to figure out if I took the SAT or the ACT (or if it was a different one?)... I took whatever the high school gave me, I don't remember having choices or anything like that and both my mom and I are unsure WHICH test I took, only that I took one. I need my scores for a job opportunity (strangely enough) and I don't know which one I took to know where to go to get the scores (College Board only has SAT while ACT is a different web site, and they all want my money lol)

  • Does being a UCI undergrad hurt my chances of UCI graduate school?

I am currently a Junior Transfer at UCI, pursuing a degree in Psychology and Social Behavior. Fortunately, it seemed, UCI also has a graduate program for a doctoral degree in precisely the field of study and focuses I most desire (that no other school offers that I am aware of)

Therefore, I was very excited to try to stay at UCI for graduate school and perhaps beyond, researching Personality Psychology and Affective Sciences (emotion/motivation). HOWEVER my roommate was just telling me that UCI graduate programs want "new blood" - that they accept very very few people already from UCI and want graduates from OTHER schools, so that out of the very few people they accept each year anyway, the majority are from other schools. Google searches have not turned up anything... does anyone know anything about this, is it true? I can apply to UCLA, UCR, even considering Stanford - but nowhere offers Personality Psychology and Affective Sciences, that I have found, and staying local would also be wonderful.

Are my chances of Graduate school at UCI really hurt by being already from UCI? It sounds ridiculous, but... I am concerned :(

  • Please help with social workers mishandling a case?

My nephew has had no stability most of his life. He is now 15. He has been moved around since he was little, and after being taken away from his mother 4 years ago he was put into an abusive home for 4 years.

Because of this he has some behavioral and mental issues.

He is NOW with my mother, his grandmother, who is wonderful and loves him and is doing everything she can to take care of him. He is a brilliant kid who has just had a bad lot in life. What he needs now is to stay with my mom, his brother, and his cousins who are all living with my mom.

HOWEVER, having been place with my mom only a few months ago, the social workers are still in his life. Every time he "acts up" or like today, had some issues at school involving "bizarre behavior" (like refusing to answer to his first name, but middle name only), they threaten to take him away from my mom. With the incident today, the social worker says she is taking him and putting him with strangers.

HIS FAMILY is at home, my mother has NO criminal record, NO drug use, and doesn't even drink alcohol. If he is taken away at this critical part in his life he will be lost forever. It is the WORST thing they can do, and my mom has NEVER done anything wrong!! PLEASE is there ANYTHING I or we can do?

This is the same social worker that placed him in the abusive home for 4 years and won't believe that any abuse took place, he isn't safe with her. PLEASE help.

Please. I want my nephew to have a chance at life and that is with my mom.

  • Passing a urine drug test - while not being too diluted?

First off, welcome ignorant anti-drug assholes, you're always amusing, ready-set-go~

Okay, so my friend (for real haha, I don't get tested in my job) smokes MEDICAL marijuana with a doctor's rec, and is going to be taking a Urine drug test on either Thursday or Friday and she last smoked MJ on mid-Monday, right before she found out about it. She is going to be drinking a ton of water, exercising, sauna, etc.

I understand that the most efficient way to pass in such a short amount of time is to burn as much as fat as possible (and not eat fat until after test), and to dilute the urine to get the MJ metabolites below the "positive" level in the urine.

    **MAIN QUESTION**

**Must answer this to get "best answer"**

HOWEVER a lot of things are also saying the labs LOOK for heavy dilution and may throw it out for a retest (which is fine, giving her more time) or they may just call it positive just because its so diluted. Taking vitamin B helps because it makes the pee yellow (when it would have been clear) however, is there any other tips, things to eat or drink the night before and morning before the test? In order to not have the pee so diluted and pure water liquid, but that won't get in the way of the metabolite dilution?

    Thank you so much!

This job will mean the world to her if she gets it, and medical MJ in no way impairs her ability to do the job, so it sucks it always comes to this... for now that is, for now ;)

  • Can my employer force me to wear a bra?

First of all - wearing a bra is NOT in the dress code, which I signed upon employment.

I work in an office and adhere to the dress code, however another female employee recently complained to my boss's wife (who is like the boss) and she wants me to wear one, but I heard about this from another employee who is like her assistant. (So no direct order from boss yet)

Now, I have very small breasts. A-cup sorta. Many men have larger breasts than I do. I do NOT need a bra for support and since I stopped wearing one about 8 months ago, my breasts have felt FANTASTIC - soreness is practically GONE. I've also been reading about how bra-free is better for your breast health... we have muscles, ligaments in our breasts that atrophy (get weaker, like arm muscles in a cast for a long time) when not used, which causes our breasts to sag more... so they actually stay perkier longer withOUT the bra. Not to mention, my breasts used to be sore all the time and felt super restricted with that unnecessary bra.

SO, you can sometimes sort of see my nipple shape.

HOWEVER, I can see every single man's nipple through his shirt in this office almost every day.

    Sounds like sexism to me.

Small boobs, nipple is the same as a man's who is not required to wear a bra or anything else to hide it... so can my employer force me? Can I use sexism as a way to back this up?

I don't want to go back, going braless was one of the best decisions I ever made.

  • Should a Chiropractic Alignment help?

Okay, so I'm hoping all I need is one adjustment and problem solved, so lets see if that sounds reasonable or not?

    I am a fairly healthy, 110 lbs 5' 3" female of 20 years old.

I never had back problems before, aside from lower back period pains...

    BUT here is what happened.

One weekend, about THREE months ago, I basically just laid in bed too long... I slept in my bed all night Friday night, and then I laid in my bed almost all day reading a book Saturday, and then slept again all night Saturday night... so was in bed for like over 40 hours I guess? (I mean I got up, walked around here and there, sat up part of the time, but still laid in my bed the majority of that time.)

I ended up having extreme lower back pain after that. I was taking an exercise class at my college and I noticed that it helped a lot, stretching my back out. But then the class was over and 3 months later it won't go away. I feel like an old person getting in and out of chairs. I try to stretch my back as often as I think about it, but it's not enough and nothing I do can make the pain go away.

I can tell it is spinal/alignment related because when I'm standing straight up and kick/raise my leg, it hurts my lower back, and I can feel it stretch and hurt when I go in the "downward dog" position, or lean my upper body forward.

Recently it was suggested that I may just need a chiropractic alignment. So considering the nature of my problem, does that sound about right?

  • What is the number of chromosomes and chromatids in each phase of Mitosis and Meiosis?

I've seen that these question have already been asked on here and have been answered, but there was never a 0 on the chromatids in the answers I saw, and while I don't remember where they are exactly, I remember learning in class that during some of the phases the chromatid numbers are 0, so I'm trying again!

So, using the 46 chromosomes in human cells, how many chromosomes and chromatids are in the following phases for-

    Mitosis:

    G1 ___ Chromosomes and ___ Chromatids

    S ___ Chromosomes and ___ Chromatids

    G2 ___ Chromosomes and ___ Chromatids

Prophase ___ Chromosomes and ___ Chromatids

Metaphase ___ Chromosomes and ___ Chromatids

Anaphase ___ Chromosomes and ___ Chromatids

Early Telophase __ Chromosomes and __ Chromatids

Late Telophase __ Chromosomes and __ Chromatids

End of Cytokinesis __ Chromosomes and __ Chromatids

    And Meiosis 1:

    G1__ Chromosomes and __ Chromatids

    S __ Chromosomes and __ Chromatids

    G2 __ Chromosomes and __ Chromatids

    Prophase 1 __ Chromosomes and __ Chromatids

    Metaphase 1 __ Chromosomes and __ Chromatids

End of Anaphase 1 __ Chromosomes and __ Chromatids

Telophase 1 (Early) __ Chromosomes and __ Chromatids

    Cytokinesis 1 __ Chromosomes and __ Chromatids

    Meiosis 2 (no synthesis):

    Prohase 2 ___ Chromosomes and ___ Chromatids

    Metaphase 2 ___ Chromosomes and ___ Chromatids

End of Anaphase 2 ___ Chromosomes and ___ Chromatids

Telophase 2 (early) ___ Chromosomes and ___ Chromatids

    Cytokinesis 2 ___ Chromosomes and ___ Chromatids
