  • Nexus 6P - Is there some kind of core control to disable cores at will?

Is there like some kind of application (rooted or not) that allows for core control within Android itself

(or custom rom or modified android).

Normally all 8 cores are active for some reason always. I would like to disable the BIG cores, but enable it manually for some applications. Or enable it when I need it when browser is under load.

  • What is the proper way to connect Sound BlasterX G5 to Nexus 6P?

I do not like the Creative bluetooth sound cards (because I find bluetooth annoying because it exists).

How should I connect the Sound BlasterX G5 to my Phone? Should I connect the USB of the card to a power bank, and the input to the 3.5mm on the phone?

Or should I plug the sound card into the USB-C port (perhaps with a USB-A adaptor)?

  • AverMedia GL310's Encoder quality compared to other encoders?

Hello, I want to know how the H.264 Encoder of the AverMedia LGP Lite (GL310) compares to other encoders such as Nvenc and Quicksync in quality per bitrate.

Which Nvenc/Quicksync generation and preset does the quality most closely resemble? What about x264 presets?

I know that in performance, the GL310 can't compare to other encoders which can exceed 1080p30 in resolution/fps.

But how sharp is the resulting image from the GL310 at various bitrates?

  • Hooking up a capture card?

So I got a Avermedia Avercapture HD (USB 2.0).

How should I hook up the capture card to the PC? Should I plug my displayport port into the monitor and the HDMI port into the capture card's input which is connected to a streaming board via USB?

Or should I plug the HDMI of my GPU into the HDMI input, and then connect the Output on the card into the monitor? The USB for the streaming machine?

  • Potato PC vs Gaming PC; Open Case?

I know that Gaming PCs tend to run hotter when their case is open.

But what about a black cheap case for a potato PC (with the GT 1030)?

I just want to know before I blow up my PC by testing.

  • What fan would you recommend for the X4 860K?

So I have a mini ITX motherboard with a FM2+ slot. And I absolutely suck at computer cooling and usually stick with the stock cooler or a basic heatsink.

What cooler do you recommend that fits my motherboard and works well for the X4 860K?

  • Does the Coronavirus ruin your lungs permanantly?

My mom thinks the coronavirus will permanantly make your lungs incapable of functioning to it's full potential, like hold less air and filter out less particles.

    Is that true?

    (I don't believe it).

  • Should I make a *small* computer upgrade? Worth it?

    I currently have a A4-7300, EVGA GeForce GT 730 2GB, 300W PSU, and 8GB DDR3-1600 RAM.

As a stopgap measure, if I switch out the A4-7300 for a X4 880k (860k) and the GeForce GT 730 for a GTX 750 Ti and play a game like War Thunder (currently ultralow 60fps 1080p, what difference would I see?

Is 300W sufficient for a X4 880k and a GTX 750 Ti? And how would a game like MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries run (Does it run well at 720p?)?
