  • How prepared are you for an emergency?

Just wondering what each persons level of general preparedness is? I know lots of time before a storm seems like people wipe out the store shelves. Just wondering how people think in terms of having near to zero food/water in their pantry for any natural or man made disaster.

  • How to deal with inheriting multiple rental properties with siblings?

My husband's father owns about 60 rental units. They will eventually be inherited by my husband and his 2 brothers. My husband and 1 of his brothers currently work maintaining the properties, the 3rd works on his own. Thankfully their father is currently mid 60's in good health, so we should have some time before this happens.

Basically the family rarely to never talks about the plan of inheritance, such as who is executor and what the plan is for the 3 brothers to go forward from inheritance, or the plan for his long time girlfriend's provision. I'm afraid it's going to be a huge mess and cause strife between the family if there is no plan. His father always says "don't worry about it, it's taken care of" so we do not have a clue. We believe he has a will, but no idea what else.

We will continue to try to talk to my father in law about his plan, but we may not get the answers we need from him. Would love to get opinions on inherited rental property, how you divided between multiple siblings, what problems you have had. What are some ways we can prepare for this eventual inheritance?

  • How long should I wait before quitting my job?

I currently work in retail as an assistant manager. I have been there for years. But am realizing I am not a people person and the job is very stressful and unhappy for me. The store manager had a stroke about a month ago and I have been running the store by default. My feelings haven t changed, but don t want to screw over my coworkers in a time of crisis. I m not sure whether the store manager will return or not, I feel like it will never be a good time to leave... how much notice would be appropriate?

  • I m torn between whether I want to foster or adopt children.?

I have always felt that I don t want to have children naturally. I have no desire to carry a child, but I do have a heart for orphans. I have a lot of love to give to children who haven t received it in their life.

I am torn between being a foster parent or being an adoptive parent. I could help more children by fostering, but would also cherish lifelong relationships with children. Anyone who has had either experience want to weigh in?

  • Should I help people when there are so many scammers in my town?

As a Christian, we are supposed to help the poor and I always have helping others on my mind. My town is becoming notorious for pan-handlers that are not really homeless and are just doing it for extra money or drug money, there is also a bad heroin problem in the town. So I'm never sure what people really need help or who is scamming. People approach others asking for gas money, money for bus fare, food, etc. I do donate a lot to church, the homeless shelter and other fundraisers, but I'm never sure how to handle random people on the street. Please advise?

  • Am I too young to adopt teenagers?

I am 34, thinking of adopting foster children, but do you think I am too young to adopt older children that are too old to be my biological children? Just wondering if there would be a higher lack of respect because the age difference is smaller. It would be a loving home, but I want everyone to be comfortable with the situation as well.

  • Should I quit my job that makes my life miserable?

I have been at my job for 7 years in retail. I am a manager, make decent money and have benefits. BUT I feel as though the job is sucking the life out of me. It is very demanding physically, and sometimes I deal with customers yelling and swearing at me to the point where I go in the break room and cry. It has affected my health negatively, where I started experiencing chest pains from stress, at least that's what they figured. I have about 1 year worth of savings and my spouse works steady and our bills are somewhat low, is leaving my job to take time off a good idea?

  • I have been experiencing a lot of premonitions, anyone else?

I haven't experienced them a whole lot in the past, but in the past year or two I experience a lot of them, especially while driving I am very aware of when danger is going to happen such as when a deer is going to run in front of me. Does anyone else have a lot of premonitions? Is there a way to get more in touch with these abilities without contradicting christian beliefs?

  • Should I send thank you cards for people who just attended our wedding?

We had our wedding recently and I wasn't sure whether we should send thank you cards to people who attended our wedding and did not give a card or a gift? Also we had people give just cards with no gift/money. I wasn't sure if sending a thank you would draw attention to the fact that they did not give a gift or be a nice gesture, or just is not really necessary at all.

  • Do I need medication for anxiety?

I have a high stress job, but have a difficult time handling the stress. Lately I feel like my head is going to implode. Sometimes it also feels like there is my own thoughts screaming inside my head and stays at that high level of anxiety (like thinking omg omg omg omg). I dont know if drugs are the answer, or changing jobs or what. My job is stressful, but every job comes with its own stress. I have insomnia at least a couple nights a week, used to be a lot worse. I have always had problems with anxiety, and didnt want to be on drugs for the rest of my life, but am I fighting a losing battle?

  • How to manage my anger?

I work in customer service and deal with some really great customers, but also some really rude ones and I take their actions personally. The more bad experiences I have, the more I just hate all people. I used to be so friendly, but now I find myself so intolerant and impatient with everyone, even offending some of my great customers without meaning to. Changing jobs is an option, but anywhere I work will be dealing with people on some level. How can I be better at dealing with people and my anger?

  • Can a store legally sell sugar that is hard?

I work in a grocery store, and a lady was complaining that our sugar was hard. I told her it was all we had until more came in, so i didnt want to throw it out until i got more in. And she was trying to tell me that it was against fda refulations to sell it like that. Btw, it was not rock hard, just harder than the usual batch we get in. I did a search, but came up short. Anyone have any idea if she was right legally speaking?
