  • Job with floral department? Any florists out there?

How does one get into entry level floral work positions? I'm guessing you need to be qualified in some way or trained. Where/how do you go about that? Just for working at like the floral department in a grocery store?

  • The Chinese calendar and the number 4?

I understand that in Chinese culture the number 4 is considered very unlucky. No one wants to live in a house with an address that ends in four, license plates with the number four are bad luck, and so is the fourth floor in buildings. Seems like the chinese will go to some lengths to avoid this number.

I'm wondering how do they deal with the number four when it comes to the calendar year? you can't skip having the fourth month of the year, or the fourth day of a month. What about people who will be born in 2014. Are they all going to be considered unlucky? Does no one get married in 2014? What about turning 4 years old? I'm not sure I understand how the whole thing works. Is there like counteractive feng shui or something?

The number four is pretty unavoidable. How is dealt with when it is encountered?

  • What do women from other countries eat while pregnant?

I mean for women experiencing nausea or morning sickness. I know at least here in the United States that we suggest bland foods will stay down better and cause less indigestion. I'm curious what women from foreign countries do when the majority of their traditional diet is well known for being spicey. Such as women from India, Thailand, or Mexico? Just eat allot of rice? There has to be a variety of stuff they eat. And I'm guessing if you're pregnant that regardless of what country you live in you're probably not reaching for the cayenne and jalapeños unless you're trying to induce labor. If you're trying to avoid vomiting what do you stuff your face with?

  • Whats the Word app lvl 40, 6 letters, music?

I'm playing the What's the Word app. I'm at level 40, and I'm stuck. There are four pictures. One I can't identify (bridge maybe? skyscrapper windows?), a guitar, a set of bongo drums, and a picture of music notes.

The word needs to be six letters long. The letter "Y" is the third letter.

The other possible letters are: TDHHMZTTRI

    Please help! Thank you!

  • Is Kansas City, MO hosting the World Series in the near future?

I read something a while back about KC, MO trying to clean up the city in preparation for hosting the World Series, or some kind of baseball tournament thing. Has that already happened or is it next year?

  • Need a good Topic for Sociology term paper?

I'm taking sociology for the first time, and I'm supposed to write a research term paper. Eventually I'll need 10 sources. The instructions are to pick something interesting and then decide on a sociological approach. The directions are kind of vague.

I don't want anyone to do the work for me I just can't think of anything to do the paper on. Originally I wanted to do something with sex positive feminism, but I don't know how to narrow it down enough & frame/structure the topic for a paper. Which means I'm now looking for new ideas!

  • Pregnancy Symptoms, first difference you noticed?

Aside from a missed period what was one of the first things you noticed? If you didn't take a home pregnancy test (weren't expecting to be pregnant) when did you first notice that something was different? Or what made you notice?

  • Are there different dialects in sign language for different ethnicities?

I thought there was only one sign language that was pretty much the same where ever you went in the world. Although I don't currently know sign language or anyone that uses it so I guess I just didn't really think about it much. I just read this article though about how there are differences in signing for caucasian americans vs. african americans. Would there be differences for asian americans and native americans too etc.? Probably for other parts of the world and actual foreign languages too I presume.

I'm just curious if anyone on here actually knows for sure.

  • What temperature to bake cheesecake at?

Some recipes online I've been reading say 350° and then others say that a cheesecake shouldn't be baked any hotter than 160° because anything hotter will cause it to crack.

Oh and when mixing the ingredients do I mix until just combined (still kinda of lumpy) or until the batter is completely smooth?

    Thanks!

  • Which is better for a cat with Kidney Disease (CKD) to eat, a high protein diet or a low protein diet?

Do they need more or less protein and why? I don't understand how a high protein diet could trash their kidneys, and I don't see how a diet full of fillers could be beneficial at all.

I also don't understand why some of the more holistic alternative brands of catfood contain things like blueberries, cranberries, potatoes, and carrots. Cat's don't eat fruit, potatoes, or plant roots. They're meat eaters.

Of course I don't want to hurt my cat because I thought I was smarter than a veternarian with years or experience and an education aimed at animal physiology & care. I really want to do what's best for my pet, she's family.
