  • Large thoracic extrusion, could this be causing my horrible back pain?

After 6 months of horrible numb, tingling, and electric pain in my upper/central back I was finally issued an MRI. I picked up the results from medical records yesterday.

"There is a central to lateral recess left-sided extrusion at T5-T6, well appreciated on sagittal T2 image 6 and axial T2 image 20, measuring 0.8 cm craniocaudal x 1.0 cm transverse x 0.3 cm AP, which contacts and effaces the spinal cord. No evidence of cord edema or signal abnormality, however."

Could this be what's been causing my horrible back pain this last year? My doctor believes I've been making the pain up and I'm hoping these results will be enough for him to finally take me seriously. It's been a really horrible year and it would be nice to finally have some answers.

  • 5'4 and 99 pounds HELP!?

First of all, I have not done this to myself on purpose. Just want to make that clear from the beginning. I have been dropping weight quickly for the past year or so. I had my daughter in January of 2012 at 180 pounds and wanted to drop the weight with diet and exercise. The good way!

Things were going fine until about January of this year. I was about 120 pounds (my goal) and then started getting this horrible pain on my left side, specifically under my rib. It happens whenever I eat more than about 10 bites or so per serving. And over time it's continued to get worse.

I've gone to the GI at the Navy Hospital early this spring just to have my second appointment canceled by his staff without my permission. I had to wait two months for the first appointment and didn't think it was okay to wait that long so I asked them to have him call me. I tried 3 times and he never returned any of my calls. My primary is finally starting to realize this is a problem week or two ago) and put me in a medication to help me digest food more quickly. It hasn't helped yet but I'm still hoping it may eventually and continue to take it. I had food poisoning last week and have dropped down to 99 right now. It's starting to really scare me and am just looking for any suggestions or advice, hopefully someone has been through this before too! You are not allowed to chose your doctor on my insurance (Tri-care prime), so unfortunately that's not an option until I get back home in 2 years. And I can't switch to tricare standard because we are barely making it financially as it is and would never be able to afford my prescriptions/fees/things you get charged when you're not on prime. Any advice or ideas would be much appreciated! I hate that this is happening. I feel like I'm watching myself die and I look disgusting. =[

  • Adderall concerns, doctor tells me to keep taking it anyway?

    Help!

My doctor has prescribed me adderall (15mg XR) about a month ago for anxiety and insomnia. I take it at about 9 am and find that it works pretty well. Doesn't do much for the anxiety, but it does help me think clearly and stay motivated. When about 8 pm hits it gets terrible. I get the most awful muscle aches, like my entire body is on fire. Because this pain lasts until the next morning this makes my normal insomnia ever worse. Sleep has become almost impossible. The only time I get any sleep is when my body finally can't handle being awake any longer. Because I am taking this daily, sometimes this doesn't happen for 48-72 hours. My doctor told me that this should get better with time and to be patient and keep taking it. After a month I'm starting to become really concerned. Any and all advice would be much appreciated!!

  • Video Game and Anime Fans HELP!!!?

I'm a freelance graphic artist and have my own business drawing awesome video game/anime/movies/spots teams/band logos and members ect. And then professionally print them onto the highest quality adult sized blankets and pillowcases! I am looking for ideas from fans of games/anime for future projects. I have little to no anime/game knowledge (outside of FF and Zelda) and would REALLY appreciate some suggestions/ideas that would potentially sell well. You can see my work here:

  • What is the best age to start my daughter in gymnastics?

She's almost a year old and I really want to get her started as early as possible! I figure it's probably another year or two, but just wanted some opinions. I don't want to be one of those crazy mother's but I'd really like her to be involved in a sport as soon as it's reasonable. Especially since I (personally) think it's very important to be physically active and social at a young age.
