Was Perry Como in the Mafia?
8 AnswersCelebrities2 weeks agoIf You Post a Letter Addressed to Hogwarts, What Happens to It?
I was wondering whether the Royal Mail forwards letters addressed to Hogwarts to any organisation or business. After all, letters addressed to Santa Claus, North Pole, get delivered to somewhere, don't they? So do Hogwarts letter get sent somewhere, read and responded to?
3 AnswersBooks & Authors3 months agoWhich Country is Heaven the Most Like?
I'm thinking it probably isn't like a desert or a barren waste. Is it something like England, but without the rain? I'm guessing it wouldn't be like London though. Or is it like Africa? Or maybe like Japan? When mystics visited Heaven in visions, what did they say it was like - or did they never think to describe it? Thanks.

....or did he just do his own thing, independent of the people who actually knew Jesus? Also, did he ever get to read detailed accounts of what Jesus actually did and said, or were there no gospels back then? Thanks.

I mean, ghosts and angels are both people in long robes who float around the place, so are they basically the same thing? Are they both dead people?

If so, what are the contact details and who runs it? If it's based in North Korea, can non-North Koreans join it? And do they run competitions with a prize of meeting the man himself? Thanks.

6 AnswersCooking & Recipes12 months agoAre Jehovah's Witnesses Not Interested in Saving Souls?
A workmate of mine had Jehovah's Witnesses turn up at his front door a couple of weeks ago. They began with the normal question "What do you think of the state of the world today?" and he sounded off about how awful and worrying so much in the world is. They then asked him what his religious beliefs were, to which he replied that he worshipped Satan. Instead of trying to save him from Satan, they simply said "Well, if that's the case, we have nothing more to say to you," and left.
I don't quite get where they were coming from, those JWs. Surely the only reason they were out and about evangelising was to try to win souls for God - so why did they turn their backs so deliberately on my workmate? Are JWs not really in the business of saving souls after all? I mean, if someone says they worship Satan, shouldn't they be made a priority? I just don't get it.
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 years agoI Don't Get It, What's the Point of Striptease?
Call me weird, but I've never been able to get my head around what's meant to be the big deal about striptease. What's it for? And who's it supposed to appeal to? Back when I was a kid, I assumed it was this really 'adult' thing, but when I got to be an adult myself I just thought the whole idea was stupid, partly because of the 'You can look but you can't touch' concept rendering the whole thing pointless and partly because you'd surely need to be an overgrown 12-year-old boy in order to derive any sort of a buzz from it. Maybe striptease was arousing back in the 1940s or the 1890s or whenever, but in my lifetime it just makes no sense. And people PAY to watch it, can you believe? They pay to watch a few quick flashes of something which they're not allowed to touch or even get too near to. It seems to me like it must be all for the dancer's benefit, because for the life of me I can't see what the audience gets out of it. Anyone?
2 AnswersSingles & Dating2 years agoWho is the Welsh Santa Claus?
Is it right that Wales has its own festive figure who's the personification of Christmas? If so, who is he and does he pre-date Christianity, like Ded Moros and Father Christmas? And is he a distortion of Odin, like those other two? Thanks.
1 AnswerMythology & Folklore2 years agoI Don't Get It, What's the Point of Bubble Bath?
Ever since I was a kid I never understood what the deal is with bubble bath, does it get you cleaner than just soap and water or is it just a stupid load of crud or is it meant to make you feel like you're a millionaire when you ain't or does it have some function I never understood, like is the whole point of it so's you can have someone else in the room while you're bathing and they can't see your private parts because of the bubbles? Or is bubble bath just totally pointless?
22 AnswersOther - Skin & Body2 years agoDid Thomas Edison Invent the Bikini?
A guy at work told me Thomas Edison invented the bikini, but it was too racy for them Victorian times so it never got manufactured until years later, which kinda makes sense. I know Edison invented hundreds of things including even really dumb stuff that never got made, like edible cork, so maybe is it true he invented the bikini too? And did he invent it as swimwear or as undergarments? And could you get sent to prison for wearing it back then? And did he invent microkinis too?
26 AnswersFashion & Accessories2 years agoWas Trump Ever Hit With a Custard Pie Yet?
I was just wondering whether anyone's yet managed to get Trumpy in the clock with a big custard pie on a paper plate. Or did he ever deliberately let anyone do that to him in aid of charity? I think maybe he should encourage people to get him with custard pies wherever he goes, to give him a more friendly and approachable image with the public. What do you think?
2 AnswersGovernment2 years agoWho Came First, St Patrick or Jesus?
I been told the church in Ireland goes way back a very long way, to long before there was a catholic church or any popes, but how far back did it start and was St Patrick already famous in Ireland long before Jesus was even born and was he preaching stuff from the old testament because there was no new testament yet.
