It is very scary and I know that protonix works because they gave it to me the last three months of my last pregnancy. I have some I could take, but is it safe during the first trimester??? • Got pregnant just before taking an antibiotic, didn't know until couple of weeks later, is this ok?

Was TTC, then got sick feeling, went to doc and doc gave an antibiotic, so stopped activity for 10 days just in case but didn't know that the one time a week prior to getting sick must have gotten me pregnant (didn't even ovulate until during the 10 days so I thought)

Anyway, the antibiotic was called Azithromycin... has anyone had any experience with this during conception, should I be worried that I may have harmed the baby?

  • Is it ok to ask WWII Veterans about their experience?

I would like to hear more about WWII from people who were actually involved. If any Vets are reading this, do you mind if younger people ask you about your experiences with the war? Maybe it depends on the individuals' personality. I don't want to offend, but I would be fascinated to hear live accounts of things I have only read about.

  • Biking to lose weight?

I have been biking 3.5 miles a day for 3 months now. I have never had a regular excercise routine in my life until now. I love it! I hope to lose weight but so far that is going slow. It is only helping my legs and hip areas thus far. Will I eventually lose weight in other areas such as my stomach and abs? or will I simply develop large leg muscles instead? (note: I can't walk or run for excercise due to some back pain, but biking suprisingly doesn't hurt at all)

  • A couple we know were adopting and it fell through. How can I comfort them?

They have tried for so long to conceive and finally had arranged an adoption. They were involved in the pregnancy early on and were at the hospital when the baby was born this week. They held him and named him and were so happy. Now the birth mother has changed her mind and they are devastated. My heart goes out to them. Has anyone here experienced this? How can I help or comfort them?

  • I am pregnant and experiencing an irregular heartbeat... Has anyone had this while pregnant?

I was told that it sounded like low potassium levels and no big deal, but I had bloodwork done and it showed I was normal. What could be the cause? I don't think it is stress... it happens even as I go to sleep and right when I wake up. I don't think it is caffine either, I try to keep my caffine intake very low as it is.

    Any help would be great...

Also, I am experiencing the flu/sore throat at the moment, could that be related too?

  • Can coughing hard break my water at only 22 weeks??

Someone just told me that my coughing from the flu can accidentally break my water. I find that hard to believe because I am only 22 weeks along. I was going to avoid taking medicine, but if this is a legitimate worry then I will take something. Is it?

  • Did anyone not have early symptoms with second pregnancies?

First pregnancy I am pretty sure I could tell by now. This time I just found out this week (I should be about 4 1/2 weeks) but I think I should be feeling something by now... at least tired or something... anyone else been there? Was it a healthy pregnancy?

  • I don't feel pregnant yet... could it be a blighted ovum again?

Earlier this year I got pregnant and I never had a single sign of it ... no changed appetite, no nausea, no sore breasts... no fatigue.. nothing like I had with my son. I miscarried at 8 weeks and they told me it was a "Blighted Ovum" In other words, not a baby at all.

Well, we waited an appropriate amount of time and tried again and this week I found out I am pregnant again. 3 positive tests. But here is the deal. Again I don't feel any symptoms whatsoever... not even increased or decreased hunger or being more tired... nothing! Does this mean it is about to happen again? Help.

  • Trying to get pregnant, but what about Chicken Pox Vaccine???

We are going to be trying to get pregnant starting next month. We have been waiting a while and are excited about trying again. I will be working at a day care in the fall only two days a week. They really need someone and I can earn a little extra money. Unfortunately, they advise getting the Chicken Pox Vaccine, which takes 8 weeks and two vaccinations... you aren't supposed to get that while pregnant, but getting Chicken Pox while preggo is bad for the baby, so I have heard. I don't know exactly what to do. I don't want to wait another 3 months to start trying. Does anyone know about the vaccine or about Chicken Pox and pregnancy? What would you do?

  • What do I do? Kid in VBS has Staph?

I have been teaching a class all week for Vacation Bible School and today a parent says.. oh by the way, my son has contagious Staph infection... I probably should have mentioned that on Monday. Just don't touch the open sores and you should be ok... and she leaves. I am so upset. She also said that both of his siblings have caught it from him. One is in my sons class he is only 19 months old, and my son was also in my class yesterday, but I wouldn't have brought him in there if I had known this.. other teachers are upset that they didn't know also. We would have been washing hands and dissenfecting toys and such. I am so upset, and tommorrow I am supposed to go back and I don't know if it is safe for my son. What do I do? I also am very angry with this mother because I am really really sure that she didn't "forget" to tell us about this but that she conveniently waited till the week was half way over so that we probably wouldn't send her kids back home.

  • What is with the rash on my hand?

Ok, I have a rash on the back of my right hand which re-occurs about twice or three times a year. It itches from time to time alot but if I scratch it it spreads .. the worst time it started spreading down my wrist. It starts at the knuckles. Nobody else seems to be able to catch it from me and it never occurs anywhere else. What is it and how do I stop it? it always vanishes completley for a while and then comes back. It is very strange.

  • Miscarriage a Blighted ovum?

I was told that my miscarriage looked like a "blighted ovum". What is this? how is it different than a "false pregnancy"? How do they know this is what it was? Several nurses said they thought it was one but nobody seemed to know for sure. Do they just tell people this too make them feel better? (because another woman who had her miscarriage at the same time as me was told the same thing)

Also: If it was a blighted ovum- is this something I might be more inclined to have again?

  • Am I really miscarrying or not?

Ok.. at our 8 week checkup the Dr. did an ultrasound. Based on what she saw she said she was 99% sure we are going to miscarry. There was no heartbeat yet and the baby hadn't grown enough since the 5 week checkup. All my bloodwork was fine and they didn't check my hcg levels. We left the appointment dissapointed and she said to come back in two weeks and we will talk about a D and C if nothing has happened yet....

ok.. it has been a week... I still feel great. I have some back pain but that has been going on for weeks now. I have had no cramping or bleeding yet. My question is this... could she be wrong and it is just that we are dating the pregnancy wrong? Or does the fact that she compared two ultrasounds that were 3 weeks apart make it sound like she could know for sure?

  • Writing a comic strip-- post progress?

I am writing and drawing a comic strip that I hope to one day submit to a syndicate for publication. It might be fun to post some of my artwork and ideas on my site for people to follow. Would that open me up for plaguerism badly? and more importantly would it effect the eventual possibility of publication?

And yes, I realize that the probability of being published is like 5,000 to one. But my real goal is to finish this project and be proud of it and to have fun thinking of what might happen if it really does make it big.

  • Invisible mildew?

If my carpet got wet from a plumbing leak and then dried pretty well... then we pulled it partially up and it doesn't smell or have any visible signs of mildew (except in one spot where a crate was sitting) then do we still need to get rid of the whole thing? or just that little section? We really want to avoid anything that could make one sick because the room will later be a nursery.

  • Could my lower back pain be associated with miscarriage?

My Dr. says I am miscarrying. I have had no symptoms of such personally. (only her findings from an ultrasound) but I have had very painful off and on back pain in my lower left side of my back in the past month. I thought I had pulled a muscle and it was inflamed and was totally seperate from the pregnancy. Could it be related?

  • The doctor told me today that I am miscarrying. What should I expect next?

I am 8 weeks but the baby is only measuring like 5 or 6 weeks. Is there going to be pain? I have had no symptoms whatsoever yet. She said to come back in two weeks to see what should be done. She is 99% sure that we are miscarrying. Is a D and C bad?

  • No nausea and pregnant with twins?

If I am having no nausea and no other symptoms yet at all. (This is my second pregnancy and the first had very mild symptoms) Could I be pregnant with twins? I will find out for sure this week probably but I am just curious. My hubby and I found out recently that our biological father's each had twins in the family. My biological paternal grandmother was a twin.

I would think that you would be really sick if you are having twins. Is this true?
