Identify this song heard on Rush?
Hi,
This song was today, 12/05/2011 coming back from the second break in the second hour (1 hour and 18 minutes into the show). It had an early 80's sound with a strong synth / electronica sound. Any ideas?
2 AnswersOther - Music10 years agoDo opinions matter at all?
In the grand scheme of things do opinions matter?
Socially, we are all indoctrinated to believe that opinions matter and that we can hold our own personal truths because some matters of the mind are too abstract to have facts attached to them.
I however theorize that this is false because an opinion cannot influence fact; all fact is inviolate.
Consider this:
If an opinion agrees with fact, the fact is true
If an opinion does not agree with fact, then the fact is still true.
Think now about digital logic. In simplifying a circuit to it's simplest terms, any input that does not have an effect on the output is thrown out as irrelevant. This is what should be done with beliefs that are proven false, but today people believe that since opinions matter, they can hang around after being debunked.
Does this make sense? Do opinions matter?
12 AnswersPhilosophy10 years agoHigh Idle and Miss, Then Low Idle 98 Blazer 4.3?
Hi,
I have a 98 Blazer with 165K Miles on it and I idle a LOT more than most people.
Over this past winter, the idle would just start climbing randomly, only when the engine was warm (Up to 950RPM with the engine completely warmed up). The engine also developed a slight miss at the normal low idle (550-650R).
I cleaned the MAF sensor and the condition seemed to go away for a little while.
I replaced the air intake hood because the old one broke and the new hood did not fit quite as well so I sealed it up with aviation sealant. That was in January.
Today I stopped the engine after a short trip, it was completely warmed up and I started it again in about 5 minutes. The engine idled at about 200 RPMs (However it idled smoothly). When I stepped on the gas it would rev up and run fine. Every time I came to a stop the idle would dip down into the 300 RPM range for about a mile and a half.
Is my IAC going bad or did I damage my MAF cleaning it? Also, what other sensors are used at idle?
Thanks!
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoOnline radio that sounds like WDMV?
Hi,
I'm looking for an old-world oldies music station with a play list like WDMV's right before they went off the air. All of the stations I can find keep playing American rock music which I do not want to hear. Are there any stations out there like this or was WDMV a one-of-a-kind?
Thanks!
1 AnswerRadio1 decade agoTimken 17X40X12 double sealed bearing?
Hi, I'm looking for a bearing that is 17X40X12 mm:
Bore (ID): 17mm
Diameter (OD): 40mm
Width: 12mm
The bearing needs to be double sealed and be able to withstand at least 12,000 RPMs
I have found a few manufacturers making this but I want a Timken. I found the 203FF but that seems to be double shielded and not double sealed. I absolutely need the latter.
Thanks!
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoChange Spark Plugs 1994 Voyager 3.0 V6?
Hi,
I need to do a tune-up on a 1994 Plymouth Voyager (Chrysler Town and Country) with a 3.0 V6, how do I get to the rear spark plugs. I'm also thinking about doing the rear valve cover (I did the front already) so how do I access that as well. Finally, how do I remove the camshaft seals (rubber plugs on the driver side of the block just under each valve cover) so I can replace them as well?
Thanks!
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow many amps 12V 400 watt inverter?
I recently purchased a 400 watt 120-volt inverter (85% efficiency) and need to know what size fuse to buy. The manual recommends a 400-amp fuse for surge loads, but I'm going to be running digital equipment and won't need that kind of surge capability.
About how many amps of 12-volt power will this require?
Thanks!

Hi,
This fall and winter I'm going to be re-doing my deck with Trex. I want some kind of molding I can put over the 45* cuts on the handrail corners and for the ends of the boards so if they are slightly different lengths that will hide them. Thanks!
2 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoShould I winterize my window air conditioner?
I live in mid-Maryland and the winters are very unpredictable with heatwaves long into the winter.
I installed a window air conditioner this year, and it's still a long time from needing to come out but I'm wondering if I should leave it up all winter because I will frequently need it late into December. It's in a 3rd story window, so I don't think I'll be able to cover the outside unit.
What would be the best thing to do?
Thanks!
4 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoEbay laptop batteries?
So, I've seen the videos on youtube of what happens when a lithium ion battery ruptures, and to be honest it's a technology I really wish would just get shelved but it's here to stay.
What I want to ask is, is it safe to buy a generic laptop battery from an Ebay seller? I've been told that many of these come from the same factories as the OEM -- I don't really believe that, but the price is right.
Does anyone here have any experience with generic ebay batteries? Please share the good and the bad about them.
I'm looking specifically for a Dell CPx PPX if that makes any difference. My real issue is if it goes bad, by the time I've bough 2 of them I could have bought an OEM battery.
Thanks!
6 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoFrederick, MD Book store that buys old books?
I have a ton of old books in great shapes, everything from estate planning to an excellent service manual for a 1991 Jeep Cherokee. Lots and lots of books in excellent condition.
Depending on what they will pay is what will determine how far I'll drive. I will go no farther than 35 miles. I'm looking for about $1 a book.
Can be anywhere in Frederick, Baltimore, Westminster, Taneytown etc... etc... so long as I can pay for my gas and have a few bucks to pocket.
Thanks!!!

4 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoEpson R280 Where to go From Here?
Hey all!
I got an Epson Stylus Photo R280 in '09 when I got my D60 DSLR, I've been using it, it's great blah blah blah good prints etc...
Unfortunately, there is one deep incompatibility between me and this printer:
My favorite picture size is 11"X14" and this printer can only accept up to 8.5" wide media. It's so unfortunate because I love this printer, the cartridges last FOREVER and I'm so sad about this, but I want to print big.
I've determined I want to go with Epson again. I have Windows XP SP2 and not a whole lot of money or desktop real estate. I'd like to be able to use up my remaining Epson 78 cartridged because I'm not even through the set that came with the printer!!!! That's part of why I love this printer so much, but that's not a must.
In a nutshell:
Epson
11X14 prints
Small as possible
Windows XP SP2 compatible
Won't break the bank
Thanks!
1 AnswerPrinters1 decade agoMilwaukee battery charger + Generator power?
I have a Milwaukee M12 battery charger and a small portable generator, the generator can much more than handle the capacity of the charger, but being a small generator, the power can fluctuate about 10-20 volts, sometimes much more when there is a heavy load connected or disconnected.
My question is can I use the M12 charger with this generator without damaging it or do I have to get a car charger? Most of the time I will have access to mains power, but occasionally I will only have the generator or my car's battery.
Thanks in advance.
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHelp with eye allergies?
I have seasonal allergies from spring to fall, but this season my left eye (occasionally the right) is getting irritated and mucousy which is blurring my vision. It typically only happens if I am outside all day. The intensity varies from a feeling of one eye being sharper than another all the way to a white haze. Eye drops and steamy showers offer temporary relief, but as soon as I'm exposed to the outdoors again, it comes right back.
What can I do to reduce the mucous in my eye?
1 AnswerAllergies1 decade agoCheap Chinese Generator - Spark Plug has no Numbers!?
Hi,
I purchased a 63cc 2-cycle generator on amazon.com. This is it: http://www.amazon.com/TG1200-2-Cycle-Powered-Porta...
The spark plug has no numbers because I spilled gas on it and the ink dissolved. I think it said FCT6 or some combination of that. I just know there was an F, a T, a C, and a 6.
I want to have a hand full of AC Delco's in my toolbox just in case it ever decides not to start or I break one etc... etc...
Can someone tell me what I need to do? It's an automotive type plug, it has a long threaded portion and a long insulator. So far no problems, but I don't want to be out in the cold should something happen.
Thanks so much for the help.
7 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoUnder-Hood Insulation 2001 Cavalier?
I have an 01 Cavalier 2.2L and the engine hood has no under hood insulation or holes to stick the under hood insulation retainers on, it's like they forgot them. The hood gets too hot to touch and now the paint is all scabby and grose. I'm going to repaint the hood, but I don't want it all to peel right off and I don't want to have to use engine paint on the hood. What can I do to remedy this problem? I'm going to need something effective because if you touch right over the engine block, it will actually burn you. It is WAY WAY WAY WAY too hot. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
