  • Why does the Bible say there will be a time of peace during the tribulation and yet you say the entire tribulation is a time of God's wrath?

The tribulation is known as Jacob's trouble and is also supposed to be the time of God's wrath against those who have rejected Him. Yet we are told that they will say "peace and safety"--that the antichrist will bring in a time of prosperity before he is revealed. So which is it? Peace and safety for the world or God's wrath for the entire 7 years?

when I accelerate uphill it nearly stalls.

Also, when I accelerate or decelerate it lurches.

Before all this started I had a high idle, which I turned down to pass smog. I turned it up again to try to get rid of the lurching but this did not help. About a month later the check engine light came on and comes on and off randomly.

  • A question for thoughtful atheists: why do some atheists hate all things religious?

Notice I said some atheists and not all. I find it curious that these "intellectuals", who regard their knowledge of the universe to be superior, fall prey to one of their greatest criticisms of religionists. They place every "true believer" into one box and then proceed to shove the box over a cliff. But aren't many of us becoming more or better than we were yesterday? When a man, for example, becomes a Christian he may at first display some of the less desirable traits of human behavior such as self-righteousness as he is somehow able, through his new belief system, to overcome some things that previously plagued him. Like the above mentioned atheist he places everybody who does not experience the world as he does into a box and then shouts at them from outside the box. However, a true believer will eventually discover the truth about himself--that his righteousness is borrowed and not resident within himself but given as a gift that can be withdrawn for a season to humble him. Gradually, over time, he learns humility and instead of badgering people he steps into the box and is gently persuasive, acknowledging his own brokenness.

But what will become of the angry atheist? What in his philosophy will enable him to gently persuade rather than try to enact legislation to force everybody to think the way he thinks? I fully acknowledge that there are thoughtful atheists who view life with an open mind, but in my experience they are the exception. Why? Perhaps it is because without a moral compass, other than the vague sense that socially damaging behavior must be mitigated for the sake of the survival of the species, they are free to make prideful and angry assertions without compunction.

So, on the one hand you have the self-righteous Christian ever being trained by his belief system to modify his arrogance, thereby making him a better, more productive member of the herd, as opposed to the angry atheist, who strives to eradicate all religion, thereby alienating and marginalizng the majority of the population of the planet.

If you are a thoughtful atheist, what enables you to maintain sufficient humility to regard yourself as a mere voice in the marketplace of ideas rather than a zealot bent on sacrificing all the little wayward lambs?

  • Any help will be appreciated. Can I deduct discounts given in my business?

I read somewhere that you can deduct discounts, so my question is, where do I put such a thing on my schedule C?

Also, what exactly constitutes an allowable discount? For example I repair office equipment for $38.50 - $68.50 depending on the model, but sometimes, if a customer is elderly or in bad shape financially I will discount the charges. If I normally charge somebody $48.50 but choose to charge them $28.50, can I deduct that $20.00 discount?

  • Any idea what this dream could mean?

I was in a physics class and the teacher was telling us about the Grand Unification Theory. He called it the theory of everything. He said that with this formula we will visit other planets, travel faster than light speed, discover how the universe was created. He then wrote the formula on the board and I copied it.

But in reality I have never made it past Algebra in college. Can anybody tell me what this formula means??? It was E=MC2/WhOsEYoMamA

  • I have a question for ninja Jehovah Witnesses only. You know who you are. Can I worship Jesus?

My full question is at the end.

The Bible says that Jehovah Shares His glory with no one. Isaiah 48:11 “For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; for how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another.”

John 17:5 "And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was...”, John 12:41 coupled with Isaiah 6:1-3. (Not only do these passages indicate that Jesus is in fact identified with Jehovah, but that in this identification, receives glory belonging only to Jehovah.) Hebrews 13:20, 2 Corinthians 4:5,6 "...glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ...", Matthew 25:31, John 11:4, 1 Peter 4:11 "...that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18, Revelations 5:13 “Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!", John 5:22,23

God does share His glory with us, but only because we are in Christ.

Christ is called God by God, Simon Peter, John the Apostle and Matthew

John 1:1,14 (by the way, "there is no syntactical parallel to Acts 28:6 where there is a statement in indirect discourse; John 1:1 is direct....I am neither a Christian nor a Trinitarian." Dr. J. Johnson of California State University, Long Beach)

    Matthew 1:23

    1 Timothy 3:16

Colossians 2:9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.,

    Titus 2:13

    Peter 1:17

Hebrews 1:6-9 "of the Son He (Jehovah) says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom."

John 5:20 "...we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.”

    Christ accepts worship

    1. John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"

    2. Hebrews 1:6 But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: "Let all the angels of God worship Him."

    3. Luke 24:50-53 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen.

    4. John 9:35-38 “Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, ‘Do you believe in the Son of God?’ He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” And Jesus said to him, ‘You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.’ Then he said, ‘Lord, I believe!’ And he worshiped Him.” (Notice Jesus did not say, “Do you believe in God?” But, "do you believe in the Son of God?”

    5. Matthew 2:11 And going into the house they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.

    6. Matthew 14:33 "Then those who were in the boat came and WORSHIPED Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God."

    7. Matthew 28:9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.

Here is my question: Considering the fact that Jesus was called God by God Himself and by His apostles and that men and angels worship Jesus in the Bible, am I not doing well to worship Christ?

Please try to concentrate on the question. I am not asking you to demonstrate that Jesus is distinct from the Father. I realize that you disagree with the idea that God could be three and yet one. Keep in mind that I do understand that they are two separate personalities and that I cannot explain how God could be three and yet one.

Listen to the question. We are plainly told in scripture to worship God alone. Yet I have just shown you 7 passages that indicate that we can and should worship Jesus. Am I acting in a Biblical manner by worshiping Jesus?

  • Who do atheists thank during thanksgiving?

    A Thanksgiving Prayer for Atheists

I thank Thee oh vaunted singularity

    Who, though sited with regularity

    Hath ne'er been seen

    But supposed

Yet I fall stammeringly at Thy feet

For by Thy demise Thou didst grant me life

My friends and family and my wife

This bounteous table, my job, my health

This hapless turkey on my plate

All sprang forth at Thy command

My strength, my wealth, my intellect

And stars myriad as the sand

In gratitude I bow my knee

    Oh blessed singularity.

  • Atheists often ask, "Who created God?" But isn't that a irrelevant question?

Please be patient as I lay a foundation for my question to thoughtful atheists. Idiots may respond also (you know who you are), though I wish you wouldn't.

I tell an atheist that God created everything. Things simply do not spring into existence out of nothing.

An atheist says, "certainly they do. Quantum physics demonstrates that particles constantly spring in and out of existence."

I say that is irrelevant on many levels, but the simplest explanation is that such events are only observed by us in this universe. Without the creation of the universe, with its laws and limits, we would have--nothing.

I go on to say that for something to come from nothing you must have a Someone with a will to make it happen and that it takes more faith to believe something can come from nothing than it does to believe that God created the universe.

Often atheists respond that it takes just as much faith to believe in a God who preceded creation. After all, where did he come from. Who created God?

Then I say, another irrelevant question. To ask where God came from implies 'space'. To ask at what point did God come into existence implies 'time'. Space and time are a part of this universe, but God is outside of time and space just as I am outside of the materials I used to build my shed in my back yard. Sure, he can interact with his creation but he is not the creation, just like I can visit the junk I stored in my shed, but I am not the junk, or the shed, or the dying lawn I walked over to get there.

So here, is my question. Can you rephrase the question of God's existence without using words that bind God to time and space as we understand it?

  • With excel 2003 I like the feature that anticipates which customer I enter into a cell. But when I go to the?

next page the customer names that excel anticipated on the previous page are no longer anticipated until I retype the customer name on the new page.

I have repeat customers that reoccur five to ten times per page and I love it when excel anticipates their name and I only have to hit the tab key for the customer to be entered into a cell. But when I go to the next page I lose that feature until I type the customer's name again. Is there any way to make that feature work for the entire document rather than page to page?

  • In Excel 2003 is it possible to make a cell wider without changing the column width as well?

Whenever I try to make a cell wider, of course the whole column widens as well. I already know how to merge cells. On some jobs merging is not the answer. I'm wondering if it is even possible on Excel 2003 to change an individual's cell width, without changing the width of the whole column.
