dog might have eaten bad dog food???? HELP!!!!?
my sister called and said her dog wasnt acting right. she said he was just kinda moping around and not acting so playful. he is a jack russell terries and hes about a year old. she said maybe its because she lets him sleep in her room now and not in the cage. she changed dog food about 3 days ago and just last night he started acting like this. do you think it might be the bad dog food?!?!?!?! she gets the little bags of ol roy most of the time. but she doesnt feed him canned food. could it be something he got into and ate lastnight and it just needs to pass though him or is it searous?!?! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! thanks for everything.
thanks for all the help. i just wanted to let you know that i went over to her house and he was acting better and a lot more playful. he seems just fine now.

Have her google the pet recall list and see exactly what brand and types are on the list. If the food her dog ate is on the list def get it to the vet. Is the dog sick in any other way than just tired?

The dog should be happy to get to sleep in a bed. I know my dog loves sleeping with me!!
The Ol Roy brand is from Wal_Mart that is from Wal-Mart. I would not feed my dog that brand!! It is cheap so I do know that is why a lot of people feed it to their dogs.
I thought one of the OL Roy brands had been recalled???
If the dog isn't better by this after noon I would take the dog tot he Vet.
I would be watching for loose stools, nausea and vomiting. If the dog start to have even less energy then I know I would take it to the Vet.
You can't be to careful now days.
Good Luck

Ol Roy is pure garbage. Anything you buy at the grocery store is garbage. I got an email from a rescue director saying that someone that adopted a dog from her gave the dog Ol Roy biscuits that were NOT on the recall list and died. The vet atributed his death to the bisquits.
I feed my dogs Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers soul because I feel it's a good product and it is affordable. I know there are others that are good but some are quite pricey.
I would call the vet.

Might just be that it's Ol Roy garbage dogfood.. Might be that it's been changed over too quickly... Not likely that it's cause he was sleeping in her room tho, unless she has something in her room that he could have gotten into...
I would get him checked by the vet, and then feed him good food.. There is no real sense even having a dog if you are going to feed him garbage. I mean if she isn't going to care enough to make sure that he is eating quality food, and providing proper nutrition, then why bother having a pet? That is part of pet responsibility and ownership.. Making sure that you do the best for your pet in all ways.. She should get a new dogfood, that actually provides nutrition..

It depends on what food they're eating . Table scraps can upset or mess up the balance on what you dog may have been eating previously . If a dog keeps eating table scraps , the dog will eventually become picky on what he's eating . Thats why you never give a dog soo much table scraps . Its not only bad if they're on a diet but its also bad for the balance in their health .

I've been involved on the outside on the pet food recall, and that should be done and over, unless she obviously bought the food before the recall and she didn't get rid of it. If she purchased it recently, it should be okay.
The best way to get to the bottom of it is to call a vet...

oh no maybe you should call the vet and tell him hows hes acting .i hope its not the dog food thing .maybe its just a change in his sleep pattern though. just tell the vet its better too be safe then sorry good luck....
