What does Greek Letter Mu stand for?

In the formula:

B = (mu)0 over 2(pi) * I over d

It is from NCEA Level 1 Physics (NCEA is the New Zealand secondary school qualifications) Don't ask what that is where you are from, because I wouldn't have a clue.

Update:

I just realised that I don't need to know for the assesment on Tuesday (they will give it as a constant variable) but I am interested to know.

Just saying this because it is not hugely important

Update 2:

Sweet. Thanks for that Dr D. Will make that best answer asap.

    Mu (uppercase Μ, lowercase μ) is the 12th letter of the Greek alphabet. In the system of Greek numerals it has a value of 40. Mu was derived from the Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol for water.

    But that doesn't help at all does it ?

    It's the permeability of free space. It's something to do with electromagnetic fields, but that's all I know. Hopefully a physicist can tell you or go look it up in an encyclopedia.
