Has anyone else experienced extreme arousal while weaning off of Paxil?

I was on Paxil a few years ago, had a normal sex drive but very difficult time reaching orgasm (extreme frustration). I weaned myself off after being on drug about 1.5 yrs by taking med every other day for first several days then about once every 3 days for a couple of weeks. Around this time, I became obsessed with sex, fantasized about it constantly even to my endangerment (try fantasizing about sex while you're driving), my genitals stayed swollen and achey. Is this a typical reaction? Just wondering.

i often fantasize about sex while i'm driving. depends on where i'm going...

anyway... mind-altering drugs are really not completely understood. paxil is a drug that alters the way your brain works, so a lot of crazy things are possible. there are many reported side effects associated with the discontinuation of this drug, from painful "zaps", tingling sensations, and other mood and behavioral effects. while not technically habit-forming, these side effects can make paxil difficult to stop using.

i don't know if your particular reaction was typical, but the drug hasn't been around for all that long, so i imagine they are still learning about how it might effect people.
