Get a bar of plain soap, dampen the clothes under the arms, rub the soap in well and then wash as usual.

Another good thing to do is use white vinegar in your rinse water - 1/2 per load. It helps soften fabric and it helps deodorize.

One last idea is to put baking soda into the load with the washing detergent. 1/2 baking soda will really help.

For long time body odor that you have washed and dried it in may need to be washed as above, air-dried and then washed again with the soap rubbed in under the arms. Once you get it out just treat the underarms before laundering and you should not have the problem. Its just hard to get body odor out after you dry it into the fabric. Some or all of these suggestions should help you. Good luck!!

The cause of the odor is bacteria. You have several options available to you for the clothing:

    Baking soda

Depending on the fabric you may also be able to add bleach to the load of laundry.

    Vinegar

Febreeze to the rinse cycle (They sell a Febreeze refill that I have used in the rinse cycle after camping trips on items that smelled bad and could not be bleached)

Also:Use the hottest water you can safely use for the fabric. Check the garment tags before using hot water though or you may damage items. Be aware that you may have to turn up your water heater to get the water to heat high enough for the whole load. Often times, especially in older homes or those with small water heaters, the hot water runs out before the machine is full so you end up with only luke warm water instead of hot.

I always put in half the amount of detergent recommended and supplement with 1/2 C. baking soda.

The baking soda does a marvelous job of neutralizing odors. And its cheap!

I started doing this a couple months ago. Soap manufacturers are selling soap, so its in their best interest to advise you to use more than you need to.

    Good luck!

i think I consider the 1st 3 solutions. i admire benefit customary despatched powder detergent. i like Tide powder, too. I ward off all detergents with ANY fragrance further. Liquid detergent does not seem to bypass as a techniques, and would surely destroy some fibers in clothing because of fact drinks have a residue that make the intgredients bind and not separate contained in the bottle. i think of in case you employ warm water, which will help, besides the certainty that with the cost of gasoline, i'm doing rather some chilly water washes and dissolving the benefit in a cup of warm water after which including it to the gadget. a large number of wash with a 2 12 months old at living house and my working scientific, i want sparkling outfits daily. My daughter works in a sea meals eating place, and is derived living house smelling like a solar baked ocean each and every nighttime. benefit does the job. that is rather much less severe priced than Tide, even nonetheless it additionally keeps your outfits astonishing, the place in case you bypass with inexpensive detergents, your outfits gets a dingy, grayish-yellowish hew after some months.
