The warning by Christ is for you to guard against your sexual desire which when not controlled leads you to sin.
Sex is neccesary thing for a mature body. One should not become a slave to his sexual desires. It calls for a union between the opposite sex where there is harmony and a genuine desire for a union which tends to marriage.

Delete all gods from your life and ask the question to yourself. If the answer is determined by your own free will and your own set of moral codes, then you have the right answer.
As with every decision to indulge in horizontal athletics, there MUST be considered agreement between at least the TWO people concerned and that you MUST consider STDs and potential unwanted pregnancies.
This is all just common-sense and has nothing to do with imaginary friends in the sky. Forget all that garbage about lustful thoughts. We ALL have them! It's NORMAL.

thats NOT what the verse says....
temptation is NOT a sin....
"Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. "
what your suggesting is the verse says this and it doesn't....
"Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman WITH lust hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. "
its quite clear that the true verse is talking about doing things to
PURSUE the woman..without having actually committed the
sin yet...is the same as the sin...and is a done deal
I.E
flirting
dwelling overly much to the point of obession
make attempts(plan) to be near the person ALONE
spying on them to catch a naked glimpse of them...
key words "TO LUST AFTER HER"......
another keyword...ADULTERY... NOT fornication...
there are two kinds of adultery
adultery cheating
adultery re-marriage
since he was talking about adultery....it was obvious also
that it was about people whom were married and doing things
that were questionable....so someone was married and being
bad or was looking at someone whom was married and being
bad...
so if a hot babe walks by you...say hubba hubba to yourself
and move on....then you have nothing to worry about....

I'm thinking pornography is meant by this--or watching strippers, or nude dancers or having explicit conversation.
So many people think that porn is cool, it just wets your appetite for the real stuff. I think it degrades a real sexual relationship with your chosen sweetheart (or sweetheart- to- be-someday.) because it cheapens sex, and the human body.
Sex is not a dirty thing--it's a gift from God, on the condition that we use it within marriage. Lust soils this gift.

If I experienced the same caloric intake thinking about or eating a good greasy cheeseburger and fries. Why would I bypass all that lip-smackin' rib-stickin' fun?

Fortunately, you do not have to abide by vague rules. Draw the line where you feel it is comfortable and sensible.
Try to think critically, and for yourself.

i think it refers to imagining or wishing that you were having sex with a woman, simply thinking that a woman is attractive is not wrong

Lust is simply-- thinking about sex with someone.

lust is when you meet your neighbor's wife two miles away at the red inn and play naked gymnastics for two hours. uh, what?
