Will I forever be stuck with this feeling?

I am 16 years old and I went through quite a rough patch last year that lasted about 4-5 months from July in which I became very depressed and got quite a severe anxiety problem which crippled me in socialiazing for a while and made me frightened of going out in public. However, thanks to some brilliant help I am now nearly back to my normal self: seeing mates, enjoying life and generally not being afraid of going away. My depression has completely gone away and my anxiety is very minor from what it used to be. My only concern and cripe is that the doctors didn't help out all with this feeling that I have had for the past six months and I still have this weird feeling as I am typing these words. The feeling is that things don't quite seem crisp and real and it feels as though I am looking at life through a screen of some sort plus everything is just a little vague and things dont feel or seem very real and this feeling won't go away. Am I stuck with this feeling or can it go away?

You don't have to feel helpless and live your life in fear of this. Anxiety is brought on by many stesses and events but you have the ability to control it before it gets out of hand.

Change your nutrition to less sugary foods, sodas and include a good multi vitamin and eating program that contains all food groups along with exercise.

Don't let your mind wander off into la la land and stay focused on your work.

What do you mean when you refer to the "brilliant help" that brought you out of your depression/anxiety problem? It would help to know as this is most definitely related to your current feeling. (Also I am just very interested to know.)

Are you/were you on meds? in treatment of some sort? Major lifestyle change?

Anywho you should feel lucky and pshaw this "problem" because to have had your other serious problems "fixed" you know how minor your current one is.

It's also possible that your experiences have given you insight into and trepidation about the world/your life, etc. and you are purposely "screening" your view of the world in order to soften the blow of reality- which apparently was too much for you previously.

Again you are very fortunate, and just try not to worry about things or create problems that aren't there as it sounds like you might be reaching a bit with this one. Good luck-

Difficult to say what it is from a distance, however, anxiaty can stop you from feeling inspired or creative and medication can also produce feelings of unreality. It is also possible that previously you were a little buzzy and now reality feels as fun as a damp sock> I'd talk to your doctor about it.

I myself have the same problem and pshyciatrist say it will never go away and put me on medication. It helps take the not so real part away. And it has improved my socializing with people.
