Yahoo Answers is shutting down on 4 May 2021 (Eastern Time) and the Yahoo Answers website is now in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.
Will someone help me figure out something about edited Yahoo Answers?
I sometimes make a mistake on an answer and send a new edited answer which replaces the incorrect answer under the question. But if the asker gets answers sent to him via email, does the new edited answer also get sent or only the original? The only way to be sure is to have someone answer this then edit their answer. Then I can see if I receive both in the email. So if you have a few minutes could you try? Send a short message then edit it. Thanks!

Thank you to all the answerers. In case you are interested, a second notice is definitely NOT sent in response to an edited answer. If I clicked to see the answer before it was edited and never re-clicked I wouldn't have known that you had edited your answers. I'll have to be more careful with my answers - I had always assumed the edited answer created a new email- glad I found out!

When you edit it both of it gets sent to that person because first when you send it, its already in cyber space where you can never take it back and same when you edit it.

The person doesn't notice that you edited a reply. It's a flaw of the program. Another one is this: if you post a question, you get then a mail telling you that your question is about to expire. Let's say that you decide to give it more time. You should then get another message just in case you forget about choosing the best answer. But this doesn't happen.
Take care
Ana
Edit:
If yahoo!answers customers service would pay attention to this kind of suggestions, this place would be a much better place and it's a pitty...

If you edit your answer, the answerer does not receive an alert about it. Alerts about answers are sent to e-mail, not the actual answer.
