Londonderry Aire?

I have a question I have been unable to answer. A friend heard a version of the Londonderry Air at a funeral. This is best known to Americans as "Danny Boy", though I read an Article that quoted a publisher's response that showed at least 80 different lyrics copyrighted in the 1920s.

You know the tune, I'm sure. The lyric he quoted me begins

"At eventide, when Christ my savior calls me

My facile barque shall sail the unknown sea

from out of mansions that blest eternity"

The last line misses the meter, but this is what he recalled.

any brilliant musicologists out there?

Like many songs, it is subject to change over time, and especially in bar room settings, after generous helpings of alcohol. The Star Spangled Banner is one of the most famous.

Danny Boy is another. Origins to these songs often bring up much disagreement from historians.
