Why is Chris Paul's nickname C3P?

I keep hearing him referred to as that. I know what the C & P are obviously but why the 3?

Update:

Thanks to those with nice answers. All the NBA I get is on national TV not local stuff so all those little initial nicknames don't get mentioned a lot.

I could have sworn the guy on ESPN Radio last week kept saying C3P.

So thanks for the help.

    I believe there must be some mistake about C3P, what I know is CP3, which stands for Chris Paul while the 3 is for his jersey number.

    It's CP3 first of all and the 3 is for the number he wears on his jersey.

    It's actually CP3, not C3P. His jersey number is #3, so he's called CP3.

    its CP3 and thats because its his first initial (C), his second initial (P) and his jersey number (3). alot of players have nicknames like that

    andrei kirelinko (name) is-AK47 for example
