Red only comes out if your parents have Irish roots.

If so, then most likely it will be a light brown with a red tint in the sun,

like me and my family .

it all has to do with genetics, and it is different with the combinations and genetic makeup of different cultures.

but in order for someone to have red hair, the trait has to come from both sides of the family because it requires two recessive alleles (biology talk, just go with it i guess...) even though the parents don't have red hair, they may have the recessive trait and so it is able to pass on to the child. you just cant see it on the parent because it is masked over by a dominant trait. you see, every person has 2 genetic factors, or alleles, for each characteristic. and one comes from each parent. an allele can be dominant (it shows no matter what) or recessive (they have it and can pass it on but it is masked over). in different cultures, different colors are dominant and recessive. i think brunette will show most of the time over blonde and red hair. in my family, my 3 brothers and i each have a different hair color. (black, blonde, brunette, and red). so i guess you never know for sure what youre gonna get.

it has to be either a blonde or a brunette. it can't be a redhead. it has to get it's genetics from either the mom or the dad

well thats what happened to me but after i was 13 my hair became like my moms
