What is there to do in Athens in 3 days?

Going to Athens for 3 days before doing a 3 day Greek Island cruise. Are going to the Acropolis but need lots of other ideas of what there is to do there (yes i have done some research but i must be looking in the wrong places!). Thanks.

    1. Even if you are not into museums, the National Arxhaeological Museum and the Benaki Museum are a must. You can also have a nice lunch at the Benaki Museum.

    2. An evening on top of Lycabettus hill will be very enjoyable, there is a funiculary to take you up there. Have dinner at the cafe, not the restaurant (same food, lower prices).

    3. When you go to the Acropolis, you will also go to the entire archaeological park around it (Ancient Agora, theatre of Dionysos), and then have a walk in the area of Plaka. You can see the byzantine churches of Holy Apostles in the Agora, Kapnikarea on Ermou street and Gorgoepikoos next to the newer Cathedral (Mitropoli in Greek, if you need to ask directions).

    4. A day trip from Athens to a nearby destination, such as Aegina, or Nafplio, or Delphi+Hosios Lukas Monastery is a good idea.

    5. You may also like to take a walk in Kolonaki, nice shops, etc. You can combine that to the Benaki Museum and the Lycabettus.

I think this is enough for 3 days!

the two Paris and Rome have greater to grant interior the way of sightseeing. yet you like plenty greater time in those cities. in case you flow to Athens you will see the Acropolis and the nightlife would be somewhat greater imminent and gentle from the 1st actual night. it incredibly is why i'd truthfully p.c.. Athens. Corfu is relatively effective yet p.c.. Athens first. All 3 places have relatively neat issues to do and notice. I Cr 13;8a

Yes, there is plenty to see in Athens but what a mis-match in days. For people with two weeks I still advise them to spend less than 36 hours in Athens and the rest on the islands.

It is a big city; you will tire rapidly so watch for people watching cafe's to rest.

Also you did not say what month; that makes a big difference. Check the link below for festivals and celebrations.

    Cheers,

And don't forget Sounion. You go to see either the sunrise or sunset (I like sunrises there better.). It's spectacular.
