It's a fantastic, amazingly entertaining movie. In many ways, it just sums up the Bush Administration follies long before he was placed into the White House!

I liked Starship Troopers when it came out. Starship Troopers 2 was one of the worst pieces of trash I've ever seen but that's besides the point. Now I can't stand it. It was a great mindless action movie, I went and read the book and now it seems like a giant disgrace. I can no longer look at it as mindless action since it was meant to have a lot deeper meaning. The book is extremely well written, of course all of Heinlein's stuff is, and deals with a lot of deeper issues. They had to go and commercialize it and it is a tragedy.

I do. As far as SciFi flicks go I thought it was fairly well done.
It had violence, gore, nudity, great special affects, a decent cast and a good plot regarding citizenship granted to those who served.
Remember: An Armed Man is a Citizen, An Unarmed Man is a Subject.
The only thing I didn't like was that the song "Starship Trooper" by YES was not used in the movie.

You know, I agree. I thoroughly enjoyed Starship Troopers and I couldn't understand why it wasn't a bigger hit. Admittedly, I myself saw it on television but after watching it I wish I had caught it on the big screen!

I thought it was a good movie. I cant say it was very overrated because of the generous amounts of bad acting thoughout the film.

Not really, but I'm a big fan of the book and I think that the movie was not very well done.

Denise Richards was a great pilot. I liked when they violated that alien slug.

Well, yes and no.
It is underrated for what it is and then, what it is, isn't overly fantastic either.
