Is excessive urination a sign of infection in a puppy that's just been neutered?

My puppy is a 7 mo 5 lb Yorkie, and the operation was Tuesday. I brought him home on Wednesday and he seemed fine, but starting yesterday evening he began wetting in the house and his cage, and has continued that this morning. The incision site looks fine. He is perky and does not seem to be in pain - I just keep finding PUDDLES.

    Call your vet.

But I will assume that the surgery has caused him to "remember that area" and possibly the stitches makes him think he needs to pee. Be sure to stay calm with him and not draw attention to his accidents. But take him outside often and take away his water after 8pm at night. He should be fine in a day or two from the surgery.

This has nothing to do with being neutered. It sounds more like he is having a reaction to the medication they have given him. Increased urination may or may not be an emergency, depending on the cause, duration, and presence of other symptoms. Contact your veterinarian or emergency clinic immediately for specific advice about your dog’s situation.

Hmmm, sounds like he's fine, just has a healthy bladder. Could be a minor infection. You can however follow up with your vet for suggestions/additional advice.

If he is peeing all the time, it probably is a bladder infection. call you vet, he might want you to bring in a urine sample

If it lasts more than a week you should talk to your vet. Otherwise it is normal.

I think you should call your vet and get her/his opinion.... better to be safe than sorry....
