Financial Management may be more lucrative if you're unable to pass the CPA exam.

In these type of jobs, the higher-paying opportunities are more difficult jobs to do. If you look into something like Human Resources or Marketing, the higher-paying jobs may be easier.

Certified Managerial Accountants and Certified Financial Planners have to take exams to get certified too, although they are not as formidable as the CPA exam. The better choice for you is up to you and should have nothing to do with the exams. The difference is the accountant has more of a 9 to 5 regular job with overtime very predictable when closing a month and especially when closing a year whereas financial management is more analytical and problem solving with overtime more sporadic based on scheduled reports and sudden projects.

I'm an accounting student, and I absolutely detest finace. It's like hocus-pocus. I've decided that rather sit in the corner counting beans, I'd like a little adventure. So I'm going to be a forensic accountant. Lots of computer classes, most fraud is committed using computers, and done from the inside. My master's will be Infomation Systems security, then a post-grad certificate in forensic accounting. I'd like to be a real forensic investigator, like on TV, but it's too much science. I'll be traveling all over the place, and testifying in court.

Doesn't that sound better than some off-orange cubicle on th 14th floor?
