Christmas is always a rough time on a budget
I work in retail and I strongly sugguest making your general buys early this will be less painful and more spread out plus no lines or limits to worry about.
that way when you get around the season all you're really looking is the few new items that came out.
as for vactions try booking early some places may even offer discount to get their business rolling
Just some things I do. So I'm not really worried
Just remember the ole boy scout motto "Be Prepared"

I'm going to be more cautious. I've already told everyone I don't want anything for Christmas this year and I plan on spending very little with the way our economy is right now.

I agree with Jasmine. People are overreacting. We are doing fine and so I am going to spend as usual for Christmas! I have never credit carded Christmas and therefore, I am not in debt because of it. The cash system works well. If you don't have the money don't spend like you do!

I think I'm always pretty cautious with Christmas. I tend to spread my shopping out through the year. I actually have most of my shopping done.

just shop as i normally do every year, no more no less.
I think this whole economic depression thing is a bit overacted...Just carry on as usual and everything will balance off.
