Lebanon category, did you notice yourselves that ...?

I understand your argument and where you're coming from...

However; First off, as Hallambra mentioned; we have managed to turn this section into a social interface where regardless of whether we know each other in real life or not, we all respect each other and provide for a pleasant means of diversion...We're even considered a support group of sorts...

Meantime, we do ask and bring up integral issues (i.e. politics [especially in Lebanon], religion...culture, cuisine, psychology..etc)

But the thing is, (and that is my opinion) while we do discuss politics when particular occurrences/events happen, I think we also avoid it sometimes as it is a very sensitive issue in Lebanon and we don't wish to offend anyone or a particular sect/religion/political faction...and it becomes tedious.

More than often, political questions turn into a verbal massacre (and while some of us are mature enough or controlled enough to handle a political debate without taking it personally and respect others' opinions) others can't and don't...Hence, resulting in a bitter environment and would probably lead to the demise of this section...

The "Escort" question was not answered or paid attention to because it was rhetorical and cliche (obviously everyone knows that Lebanon unfortunately has the reputation of being an escort haven of sorts) but its not a stereotype we wish to immortalize....So people chose to ignore it....

Otherwise, we have also very often provided useful and friendly information regarding tourism, culture, cuisine, talks of basic political structure...etc

Furthermore, a lot of us go outside of the Lebanon section to participate quite eloquently in various categories and do provide very insightful and scientific insights/opinions...

We deliberately maintain this section to be the social forum that it is and have been more than often praised for it.....

If you or whomsoever wish to ask any political, religious, cultural..etc, questions, we are more than glad to answer and discuss them, as long as the questions/statements don't take the form of derogatory and slander (i.e. Why is Syria so much better than Lebanon; (or) Don't you think Israel will kick Lebanon's butt next time..etc)...

Some of my questions are so silly i cant believe i asked them.

They don't pertain to travel or Lebanon or anything really;D but the fact of the matter is that i wish i was in Lebanon and that's what draws me here.

Im not lebanese and most of us here don't even live in Lebanon so frankly ask whatever you want if nobody answers than BFD.

I don't just stick around the Lebanon section either i go to UAE section Israel, Egypt, Portland, Arizona all as many as i can handle in a day just to keep my sanity right now cause im not working and everything is driving me crazy except for Y/A.

I'll be honest really i swear ..as i see through my eyes and this is purely my opinion only that im kinda weary and standoffish if the person im answering a question to doesn't have a photo and it could be any photo ya know :) i don't know if your a man or a woman...for God sake you could be a kid for all i know...

You got a point there as it is in Travel and it should have more questions regarding that and really, some of the questions are just out of context ... but you only answer if you wish to as it is a free Forum. So, why do you feel you should preach to us about what we should ask or answer here? If I go to the category for my country in Travel, most of the questions may be about visiting it, but many seem to be asked to offend my people, so I don´t care to answer there.

Although asking about escort service is no big deal and it does fit the purpose for the category it was asked in, I don´t think the people here are into answering it because they probably don´t go after this type of service as much as whoever is interested in asking or answering it. And many of us don´t even live there ... by the way, do you? And why bother to ask or answer about sexual matters ... it is not the place for it! You would most likely bring some unpleasant folks to the category.

It is exactly this, the complexity of the people here: they may ask some light questions without much consequence but here I have learned a lot about these people from "Lebanon", their values and experiences that I bet I wouldn´t just reading about their country!

Now, fellow Yahoo user, if you are not happy here, why do you bother? I like R&S for example, but cannot stand the stupid answers I read there, so I stay away. If you wanna be acquainted with some nice users stick around here and have fun

I think you've answered your own question therefore you already knew the answer hence you are trying to make a point here. Point taken, thank you for your time...We come here to have fun but whenever someone has a real tourism or serious question about Lebanon we do our best to answer it and give as much info as we can. But in the meantime, we ask or usual questions to relax and get to know each other. I have met many people through Yahoo and became good friends with them while "chatting" (as you call it).

As for the escort question, I didn't answer that because I don't know anything about it. No one here is affraid to discuss any sexual or politics or whatevr question. If you have any questions go ahead and post them. We do chat on msn and facebook and other forums...but YA stays our "special" place, it's here where we all met 2 years ago.

I think if anyone doesn't like our questions or answers they can restrain themselves from answering. I guess it's called freedome of speech.

Hey dude ...take a chill pill & wait till you get to know us before you start to tear our home down ..

I stumbled into this category just under a couple of years ago & many of the contributors here were old hands then & I could see that they had a friendship that extended beyond answers.

It wasn't too long before they welocomed me & now many of us have formed strong friendships that go beyond this category..

Sure , we don't stick rigidly to the rules ...we have all paid a price for that because we are constantly being reported for all the things you have mentioned. I guess what you need to decide is whether friendships formed out of having a common interest such as Lebanon is worth more to you or to each of us than having a boring , dull category that has no energy or life !

For us the answer is simple !

Its not anything abt lebanon, I mean you will find that in many categories, check Egypt or Israel for example.

I agree with you, BUT, what is the problem if we answer each other and also share our thoughts and opinions and good, sad moments.

Regarding the Questions about lebanon, sometimes we can't find answer or its silly, and sometimes we answer it, BUT also sometimes its a repeated question, I mean the one asking doesn't do more effort to search for previous questions and find what he is looking for.
