Do American voters dislike candidates with combat experience?
Since 1992:
The Presidential losers:
George H Bush - a Navy flier shot down in the Pacific.
Bob Dole - wounded by German machine gun fire during WWII
John Kerry - commander of a swift boat in Vietnam and winner of two Purple Hearts
John McCain - Naval Pilot, shot down and held captive in Vietnam
And the winners who between them never heard a shot fired in anger:
Bill Clinton
George W Bush
Barack Obama
Coincidence or active discrimination against war veterans?

I thank ALL war veterans but just because you were in a war does not mean you know how to run a country.

George H Bush served two terms as vice president, and a term as president. He wasn't voted out because of combat experience.
The rest on your list have had long and distinguished careers in congress, or as governors.
I would say your answer is no, that is not what cost them the election, or they wouldn't have been elected to those positions either.
Your list of winners is only 2 administrations long, how do you think you can come up with a pattern based on only 2 administrations?
George W Bush has fired plenty of shots in anger during his administration.
Chappy- "maybe when someone really attacks"? Where were you on 9/11?

What does firing shots in anger have to do with being the leader of the United States? Trying to kill someone out of anger seems like something that would make a man less qualified to be president. There are thousands of people with combat experience but that doesn't qualify them to be president. Why are so many people making this outrageous conjecture? We've never elected a man with wheels for feet, is that because we're discriminating against wheel-feet?

Sadly that seems to be the trend.
At least I voted for Kerry in the previous election and I voted for McCain is this election

Probably because of negative footage put on by the media over the years. Personally I wouldn't mind a leader who has combat experience, since it may mean that the military are sent to where they are needed.

Combat experience is no longer an important check mark on the resume of a perspective future President of the United States. As a 22+ year military member so far, I completely understand why it has become less and less important. With someone in the Oval Office who is willing to listen to key senior military leaders, it is no longer that important.
Alpha Male... I've seen your comments on many posts and you never cease to impress me how dumb a human being can be, and yes I do mean dumb, not ignorant. But, it is fair to say you are both.

i do no longer dislike him in my opinion, I merely don't sense he's qualified to even criticize the President of the U. S.. he's so naive, in regard to Iran and people who opt to wipe Israel off the face of the earth, to no longer point out us. he's vulnerable! And our enemies can see it now! the international Leaders won't care that he's a robust 'speaker'.... they be attentive to he's merely too immature to hold certainly one of those extreme workplace. President Bush is a great chief and has achieved extra suitable than any President interior the final 2 many years!

It's because people refuse to accept that putting your country first starts with volunteering to serve your country - even in unpopular wars. It also shows that the people who vote for BC, GWB and BO do not care about character, life service to ones country or honor. They only care about how the candidate makes them feel. It's sad really and yet they wonder why the country is in the mess it is today.
I don't think it is discrimination it is just ignorance.

But Bush sr won in '88 but since 92 your right we as a country really are lost, maybe when someone really attacks will young understand about freedom and patriotism. They think they know by voting for Barry, but they haven't a clue.
