Help With Guys!! I'm Confused!!?

so i txted this guy for the first time on saturday

he txted back and said that he left his phone in his truck overnight. ok. he said that one of my best friends told him that i liked him and that we should go out sumtime. he said that we should go out sumtime

my best friend didnt say that she only told him that i really liked him

so was that a strange way of asking me out or was he just saying that hes interested in me?

then i was like i g2g cuz i got 2 drive home and hes like thats ok im working anyway

so was he texting me cuz he was really bored and had nothing better to do or did he do it because he likes me and wants to talk to me more?
