how to solve x^3-x^2+3x+5 by hand?
its been forever since I've had an algebra class...can u please help?

x³ - x² + 3x + 5 = 0
(x + 1) (x² - 2x + 5) = 0 ............. will be zero if either term is 0
x + 1 = 0 ; x = -1
x² - 2x + 5 = 0
x² - 2x = -5
(x - 1)² = -4
x = 1 ± 2i
Answer: x = -1 and x = 1 ± 2i
