what the heck the big deal with the movie twilight?

I agree with one of my fellow answerers, it looks like something on the CW. It looks like watered down "vampires for preppies". Yeah, they look so menacing and evil! And a love story? Oh give me a break. This is yet another "Harry Potter/Lord Of the Rings" type deals with 3 to 4 more movies in the works. Yeah yeah, I know. "It's based on the popular novels" but it seems people are more worried about how attractive the actors that play the characters are than they do about the adaptation from book to screen. People are calling it the best when it hasn't come out yet. I guess anything with an unlimited budget and special effects sell movie tickets. The economy is in the toilet and people are going to be lined up for hours to see this? Give me a break. And Robert Pattinson..what's the deal? People act like he's a greek god. He's not even that attractive.

I'm sorry but how can you take a vampire movie with the title "Twilight" seriously? That sounds like something a cheerleader would name her movie. "like all the actors are going to be like so hot..and I'll call it "Twilight star" or "Twilight"

b/c of the love story tied in and i know other vamp stories are love stories but this one is kinda out there in the depth of love and plus its based on SM books so obiviously ppl will watch it im a big fan btw and im gonna watch but i don't understand the complete uproar its causing i mean its not gonna be as good as the book b/c lets face it words and stuff can describe feelings and emotions better than actors (who aren't exactly what u pictured) who remember lines!!!

and i love twilight and rob and kristen so don't think im protesting anything!!

It's primarily an obsession driven by teenage girls who fell in love with the books.

Frankly I'm a little scared by the obsession. I have heard of at least one case where there was a virtual mob scene at a store where the male lead was appearing. I have taken a number of phone calls from girls who are in a near panic about tickets for the midnight show; and before we started selling tickets they were panicked about whether we would play the movie at all.

You have to like it.. its the type of book that you love or "hate". I really not a big reader.. books usually don't interest.. but these books got me hooked completely.. It is the way Stephanie Meyer describes the characters, especially Edward.

Plus, it is a different type of vampire movie; more modern, directed to teens/young adults.. and it's a romance about a normal girl that a lot of girls can relate to, and a captivating vampire.. whats not to like? lol

Obviously you haven't read the Twilight books. The big deal is that is the movie that is based off of the best-seller Twilight that thousands of mostly girls obsess over.

twilight is insanely popular, so of course the movie is going to be popular. kind of like harry potter-the books are really good; the movies not so much; but because the books are popular the movie is too. anyway, i'm excited to see it!

i said the same thing before i read the book i know iitz a gurlz book but ive seen guiiz readiing it as a matter of fact my broz readiing it he likes iit but iz not obsessed about iit like i amm!! the book iiz really good and everyone iz expecting the movie to be just as good which i doubt it willl but imma still c iit!!! give iit a chance iitz really not that stupid of a storyline once u read iit answer mine =)

OMG the book was soooo amazing and the reast of the sries..so passionate and adicting!!!! I absolutely love it!
